PREMIERE | Ephwurd Drop Filthy Bass House Banger "Function" Ft. Oneeva

Ephwurd Function

Today we have the pleasure of premiering yet another massive single from our favorite bass house duo, Ephwurd. Consisting of Datsik and Bais Haus, Ephwurd have just dropped their bangin’ new tune titled “Function.” This follows up last month’s premiere of their high-energy release, “Money,” with Fatman Scoop. “Function” features alternative rock duo Oneeva, which consists of producer Antonio Fioravanti and vocalist KiYoNa. This powerful foursome goes off on the latest collaboration, shredding our stereos with mind-melting electronic sounds.

“Function” consists of deep, euphoric production, complete with angelic vocals, reverberating synth chords, and a spacey arpeggio. Things dramatically heat up before culminating into a grimy house breakdown. Dirty, robotic synth bass blasts out from evolving percussion, with Ephwurd switching up the beat throughout the track. The collaborators meld it all together by bringing back in the dreamy atmosphere and building it back up to an even heavier drop. Ephwurd has a big show tonight at the Belasco Theater in LA, so those of you in town should surely check it out and grab tickets here. Check out “Function” below, out now on Ephwurd’s own Eph’d Up Records, and enjoy!

Calvin Harris Shares His Warm Funk Wav Remix Of SZA’s “The Weekend”

Calvin Harris Sza weekend

When you put together two of our favorite artists on a song, you can almost guarantee the result is going to be fire.

Both SZA and Calvin Harris had a very solid 2017 to say the least. SZA’s debut studio album, CTRL, completely blew up and put her directly in the spotlight, racking up five Grammy nominations. Calvin Harris took a break from EDM to drop his unexpected Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1 album earning himself a spot on our top electronic albums of 2017 and even earned him a Grammy nomination.

SZA’s “The Weekend”, is the first track to receive a Funk Wav Remix by Calvin Harris, and we hope it’s not the last. Calvin turns SZA’s yearning, lustful ballad into a warm, dreamy version of the original, perfect for taking your mind off the fact that winter is rapidly approaching. The piano chords alone are charming, but the track is really tied together by that new, funky bassline and those smooth synths. If you just finally got SZA’s track out of your head, prepare to have it stuck back in there. Enjoy!

Hip-Hop Collective BROCKHAMPTON Share Must Hear New Album 'SATURATION III'

Brockhampton Saturation III art

Hip-hop group BROCKHAMPTON have had an amazing 2017, but they're not done yet - they have just released SATURATION III, their third album of the year.

The third and final album in the Saturation trilogy opens up with the explosive "BOOGIE" and keeps that momentum going for its duration. The leader of the self-proclaimed boyband, Kevin Abstract, shines as always - but the rest of the group's many members meet that high standard he sets. Romil, Jabari, and Kiko, the three members that handle most of the production, have improved on their quality beats from SATURATION I & II and the chemistry between all of them sounds stronger than ever.

BROCKHAMPTON are gearing up for their second-ever tour that starts next month, and have already announced a new album entitled Team Effort that will be out sometime next year. This album is an incredible way for them to close the year, and we have no doubt they'll continue their huge success next year. Enjoy!
