Stream & Download THEY.’s Must Hear Debut Album ‘Nu Religion : HYENA’

THEY Nu Religion press Shot

It’s no secret THEY. are one of our favorite up-and-coming hip-hop duos. We couldn’t be more excited for their debut 14-track album NU Religion: HYENA to be available now via Mind of a Genius Records, who are also the team behind ZHU and Gallant.

For those unfamiliar with the versatile duo, don’t worry we linked up with THEY. to launch our "Don’t Sleep On" interview series that gives a more in-depth look at up-and-coming artists you should be familiar with.

NU Religion: HYENA is one of the projects we’ve been most excited about as everything THEY. have put leading up to their debut LP has all sounded great. While they have an immediately recognizable sound, their songs sound very different from one another. THEY. have a unique sound blending their futuristic hip-hop and R&B style with unique, raspy vocals and versatile production that blends a variety of influences including rock, hip-hop, trap and some electronic sound design.

THEY. previously released much of the album as singles with standout tracks like "U-RITE", "Motley Crew", "Deep End", "Say When", but honestly the whole project is a great listen from start to finish. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, check out their music video for "U-RITE" below the Spotify stream. Enjoy!

Stream & Download Thundercat’s New Album “Drunk” Ft. Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa & More

Thundercat Drunk Artwork

Incredibly talented bassist & vocalist Thundercat has dropped his third studio album Drunk via Fly Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. The 23-track project spans 50 minutes and brings on features from Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins as well as contributions from Flying Lotus and Kamasi Washington, who's a highly regarded Jazz Sax player that has collaborated with Kendrick Lamar and others.

Thundercat has established himself as a high-demand studio bassist whose wild, frantic basslines have contributed to numerous artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus. Here he takes a very not serious approach to his music as everything from the artwork to the lyrics have a comical tone.

Thundercat’s music is weird. He injects his bizarre personality into his songs along with an endless amount of funk and soul blended with jazz, hip-hop, R&B and more across the genre-blending project. His jazzy basslines are paired with his breezy, dazed vocals across the relaxing and dreamy project. Kendrick, Wiz and Pharrell each contribute exactly how you would expect them to in their signature styles. Stream below and enjoy!

Stream And Download Calvin Harris’ New Song "Slide" Ft. Frank Ocean & Migos

Calvin Frank Migos

Calvin Harris has just dropped what might end up being the biggest collaboration of the year. He's teamed up with Frank Ocean and Migos for his new single, "Slide", and it's straight vibes. The song carries a mellow rhythm featuring subdued piano keys and bright percussion. If you need to unwind and just sway to a good tune, "Slide" is it.

Rumors of this track began to brew in late January when Calvin teased a clip of it on Snapchat and then did so once again earlier this week. All rumors were to put to rest when Calvin tweeted out the official credits for the release. Migos members Offset and Quavo are both credited as writers on the track, in addition to Calvin and Frank.

The collaboration is unexpected in a number of ways. Frank Ocean is coming off a massive year, having released his 45-minute visual album, Endless, and his long-awaited Blonde LP that spans 17 tracks. He also announced his first live shows in three years. To see him follow up these major releases and announcements with a collaboration of this magnitude is definitely a pleasant surprise. Not to mention that "Slide" sounds like the most radio-friendly work we've seen him take part in.

The timing also could not have been better as they currently have one of the biggest tracks in the world right now with "Bad & Boujee", which has even received the remix treatment from ZHU. On Calvin Harris' end, the DJ / producer is no stranger to working with artists in other genres. In the past, he's collaborated with Big Sean, Haim, John Newman and Rihanna. However, this may be his most unique collaboration to date and certainly the most timely given the current buzz around Frank Ocean and Migos. Stream "Slide" below and let us know what you think in the comment section below. Enjoy!
