Lane 8 Unleashes Unreleased Music In His First Ever BBC Essential Mix: House

Lane 8 essential mix

Our guy Lane 8 has been crushing 2018. Since setting the tone from the jump with his absolutely amazing Little By Little, he has not slowed down. He has been touring his album since late January, and will continue to throughout May. I was fortunate enough to catch his show in Chicago in February and it was quite the experience. Upon entering the venue, security puts red tape over everyone’s phone camera and hands out a small card with that says “Leave Your Phone. Experience The Moment. This Never Happened”. Super cool stuff. I’ve kept the card handy in my wallet for the past two months, check it out below.

Some of our favorite content from Lane 8 are his mixes. The mostly chill, deep house music he produces and plays is so conducive to being mixed, you can listen for hours at a time without losing interest. In the past we’ve covered his seasonal Mixtape series, including Winter 2016 and Spring 2018. However, this past weekend Lane 8 made his debut in coveted BBC 1 Essential Mix slot.

The two-hour mix exhibits Lane 8’s seemingly endless repertoire of melodic and laidback house music. Cuts, remixes and mashups from “Little By Little” are played throughout, alongside numerous unreleased Lane 8 songs. Which is awesome.

Lane 8’s debut essential mix is everything we’d hope for, providing a transcendental journey that you can easily lose yourself in... Enjoy!

Rising Artist Two Feet Masterfully Blends Guitar With Electronic Production On New Song “Same Old Song (S.O.S Part 1)”

Two Feet

New York artist Two Feet has returned with another edgy single titled “Same Old Song (S.O.S Part 1)”. This release is Two Feet’s first of the year and follows his preceding featured release “I Feel Like I’m Drowning”.  He has developed an extremely identifiable sound which incorporates dramatic guitar riffs, big basslines and dark vocal tones. “Same Old Song (S.O.S Part 1)” is another dark ballad that fits right in with the rest of his repertoire.

The song grabs your attention right away with a deep bassline and Two Feet’s hazy vocals. The track eventually evolves into a powerful climax that revolves around a smooth but ominous guitar melody and captivating percussion. Two Feet has never failed to impress and his latest is yet another strong release, which hints at a forthcoming ‘Part 2’, and you know we’ll be keeping an eye out for that... Enjoy!

French Producer Fakear Releases Enchanting Sophomore Album "All Glow" - For Fans Of ODESZA

fakear all glows

French producer Fakear has continually impressed the TSIS camp with his ability to create an enchanting atmosphere with all of his releases. Personally, when I listen to Fakear’s music I picture myself in the Avatar world, in the middle of the night, looking upon all of the neon plants lit up around me... Which I’m just realizing is pretty much the album cover of his new album All Glows.

The new album features 14 brand new tracks as well as two previously released singles, including “Something Wonderful,” that we had the pleasure of premiering. With vibes comparable to ODESZA, Fakear is most certainly an artist to keep an eye on and his sophomore album All Glows is evidence as it's out on Counter Records, which is actually the same label that ODESZA's latest LP was on.

The album is a very diverse offering. It includes electro-pop inspired crowd pleasers such as “Something Wonderful”, “Lost In Time”, “One Chance” and “Give You”, and more experimental dreamy electronic cuts such as “Next Life” (personal fave), “Chakra”, “Tokara” and “Lou”. Fakear has been a household name for us since his premiere back in 2016, and since has been included on our list of 20 Must-See Rising Artists At Electric Forest 2017. He is currently touring throughout Europe, and has a couple upcoming shows in the states throughout May. We strongly encourage catching him live if you have the opportunity. Until then, indulge in his sophomore album All Glows.
