Top 15 Mixtapes/ Free Albums of 2010

Mixtapes and freely distributed albums are one of the best way an artist can get their music out to a mass amount of people. Some mixtapes are so-so, and others just blow you away. Some are so good it’s hard to believe they are free. and that’s why every single one of these artists are blowing up so fast. 2010 had a huge amount of quality mixtapes/ free albums, and it was hard, but I’ve picked the 15 best, and a few honorable mentions because it was too hard to pick just 15. Now all of these albums are amazing, and if you haven’t heard them definetely download it and check it out. I’ve also picked one of my favorite tracks off each one to give you a sampling. Check out some mixtapes you may have forgot about, or some new ones you haven’t heard yet. I loved Macklemore’s Unnamed Mixtape, Huey Mack’s Bright Lights and Long Nights, and definitely B.O.B.’s No Genre. Overall though, you picked 15 amazing mixtapes so props to you!

Oncue needs to get a record deal ASAP. I agree on most of these mixtapes except Drake vs Coldplay i personally don’t think it was one of the greatest mixtapes of 2010. But thanks for these posts, i learned way more about these mixtapes!

You should have a “random” button. If you hit it, it would randomly give you a previously posted song. Because I’m on here alot, but sometimes i feel like i have to go waaaaayyyy too far back to find something i haven’t heard on here before!

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick.
