Chris Young the Rapper & Rossy – Touch The Stars: Sick Chill Hip-Hop with Acoustic

Posted in Chill, Video by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

Chris Young the Rapper is no newcomer to the site, I’ve featured The Crave, Postin, West Coastin’, Value Pack EP, and 1991 EP. Well I really dig Chris and we’ve been working together and Thissongissick.com is now going to be the official sponsor for his upcoming mixtape Value Pack 2 coming out soon. Well in spirit of the upcoming release of Value Pack 2 Chris has gotten a video made for one of his older tracks ‘Touch The Stars’, a collaboration under the name Vibe with the artist Rossy. This song has a real laid back chilled out summer on the beach feel. It reminds me a little of the Shwayze/ Cisco Adler rapping/singing combo. It’s got a great vibe and might be one of my favorite Chris Young songs. His lyrics are real, comical, and flowful. This video shows why I’m gonna be sponsoringthe upcoming mixtape. check this out and enjoy!

This song was honestly pretty bad. The guy playing the guitar sounded like a girl and what really threw me off was the whole idea of ‘acoustic rap’. WTF

    Love it!

Nick-good job finding these two! This song is AMAZING! Hate to say it, but its me and my girlfriends favorite song right now. Vibe needs to go on tour ASAP

  • Jon

I really liked it. I’m not to fond of the idea of blending acoustic and rap, but they pulled it off. Gives us more Vibe.

and @Kurt: Does it really matter if he looks like a girl, who cares, the dude could wear a dress, that has no impact on how it sounds.

    Overall good song.

@Jon Read what I posted again. Said he SOUNDED like a girl… or Justin Bieber whichever insult you prefer to critique.

I’m just saying this song definitely isn’t my favorite but that’s my opinion

  • Cynthia

This is a breath of fresh air

I’ve been a fan of Chris Young since you first posted his work on here. I’ve since listened to everything he’s put out and I have been convinced for a while that he is a FUTURE RAP LEGEND. Keep up the good work, Chris.

Great song. It’s different but it’s sick. He brings to totally different style together and make it works and it flows. Keep up the good work Chris

I LOVE THIS DUDE. The Crave is for sure my favorite, he made that Flight Facilities track his own. Kudos on the support, so stoked to jam to the new mix tape the next time I’m on my way to San Diego. ALTHOUGH I do agree with Kurt, Rossy’s vocals are a bit too feminine for MY taste. I think someone like Cris Cab would have knocked those vocals out of the park.

    I love it!

    Rossy is dreamy

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick. Enjoy!
