Phantom of the Opera (Whole-Z Remix ft. Lil Jon): MUST HEAR EXCLUSIVE BANGER REMIX

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

I’m here with an exclusive remix I’m very stoked to post. It’s from Burlington DJ/Producer Whole-Z who brought us the infectiously catchy BANGER remix of Edward Sharpes’ Home. The song quickly became one of the site’s favorites and I’ve been waiting for his latest ever since, and now the time is here. He took parts of a song from Phantom of the Opera, mixed it with some Lil Jon vocals, and his own dose of electro/house almost dubstep influence at parts. The song honestly remind me of Deadmau5′s ghosts n stuff. Check it out this remix is a must hear, turn it up and enjoy!

AWESOME REMIX, I loved their edward sharpe remix as well, Whole-Z did well!! …though Lil Jon got kinda annoying. Phantom of the Opera has potential for good remixes of just itself, like those ones of Ellie Goulding (specifically Your Song)

This track has achieved the rare feat of having all of the traits of ‘hit’ while at the same time having all the attributes of ‘miss,’ as well.

It must have been the Animal Rights beat before the Ghosts ‘n Stuff ripoff that made you think of mau5.

dude great work but you gotta get rid of the lil jon stuff its preventing this song from reaching its ultimate potential. sounds really out of place and repetitive with the rest of the awesome shit

Now I respect this site and the guy who puts in mad work to find the music and shit to put up here cause i know it takes work. There are just several issues i have with this site and its content.
One the songs are catchy pop electro remixs that you can listen to at best 30 time before you get bored of it. Now granted ive downloaded songs from this site, but in every case i haven’t listened to the song longer than a week. The problem is these songs sound good until you realize they lack soul and the feel you get when you know an artist put their heart and soul into a track or album. I have many albums that are several years old that i still listen to today and you really dont get that with these tracks.
Two the songs are very formulaic and thats why you need to download two or three new songs a week. I can describe the formula it takes to get a song on here. Step One find a female cover of a classic song thats been around for awhile (preferably by Ellie Goulding). Step Two have some nerdy college kid whos parents bought him all his equipment throw some catchy pop synths and wobble bass together with the vocals and maybe a popular rap hook. Step Three upload to thissongissick.com and call it an exclusive chill banger dubstep remix. Step Four have hundreds of ignorant mindless teenagers download your song. Step Five repeat because in two days no one listens to the aforementioned song.
Now i hope this inspires some readers of this site to check out some real raw music with creative soul and stop following the mindless pop culture herd. Oh that and peep my site.

    @Chris

I liked your comment but I have to disagree with you on a point or two. ThisSongIsSick.com does upload a ton of catchy poppy dubstep songs but for every handful of songs, there is one that is a true banger.

Example: Edward Sharpe – Home (Whole-Z remix)
Chris Young The Rapper – Postin’ Westcoastin’
DJ Fresh – Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion remix)

Some are sick as hell and I still bump them in my car. Especially that Edward Sharpe track, that thing is special as hell.

I think it is so sick that TSIS is helping the world hear Whole-Z. That kid is a bundle of talent, can not believe he hasn’t been picked up by a record label yet.

To be honest, I’m digging this song. I’m not a fan of li’l john, but I think it works in this case.

this site isn’t necessarily about the “best” music around. The guy who runs this is all about what sounds good and what is new and innovative, whatever that may be. He posts a lot of stuff that he hears and thinks is cool, so stop hating cuz this site is all about sharing music that most people don’t get to hear and he does a fantastic job of sharing multiple types of music.

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick. Enjoy!
