Whitney Houston – So Emotional (Samples VIP Remix) : Sick Dubstep / Glitch Remix Tribute

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

RIP Whitney. Colorado based producer Samples took an older track of his andmade a new filthy VIP remix as a tribute to the passing of Whitney. The vocals and the slow paced crushing bass works so well. The first drop almost through me off, then the bass comes crashing in. This is a really unique great sounding track. Turn it up, remember the great singer, enjoy!

It’s to his BANGER of a track, Bangarang. The video shows some kids hijack an ice cream truck, then years later as ninjas doing the same with an armored car. So there’s the super heavy filthy dubstep ,as well as the chilled out dubstep sound that’s got a groove to it like Pretty Lights. Today I’ve got sick chilled out dubstep remix of ‘Wait So Long’ by indie / folk group Trampled by Turtles. The original track is very catchy and has a feel good vibe, and Manic Focus pumped the track with some mellowed out electronic vibes. Manic Focus is the guy who brought us the dubstep remixes to Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California and Gary Jules – Mad World. This remix works just as well, with the perfect amount ofbass, turn it up, enjoy!

Quick Inside Look at Porter Robinson – Thissongissick Interview [TSIS EXCLUSIVE]

Posted in Bangin, Interview, Video by nick | Tags: , , , , , ,

Hey guys, we’ve been going through some changes, and have a sick interview that we did a few months ago with Porter Robinson. This is a quick inside look at Porter Robinson, showing his thoughts on how people react to music, a breakdown of what he has in store with his live sets, outlook on touring, past thoughts on making “the most exciting drop ever”, and his 2 goals in making music. His Spitfire album has been incredibly successful, (listen to the whole thing below), and he’s been touring with countless big names like Skrillex, Tiesto, Zedd, and a ton more. This really is the year for Porter.

Porter states how his original goal was to make “the most exciting drop ever”. then moves onto his admiration for hyper detailed music from artists like Wolfgang Gartner and Noisia, but liked how “hard and danceable they kept they’re music”. He ends with his conclusion for his outlook on making music “Fuck everything else except for those two goals, I want to be complex,  and I want it to be agressive.”  He certainly does both of those so well, and been doing nothing but making HUGE waves since the interview. It was a great pleasure to sit down with Porter, and it’s really amazing to see how big he is getting, and how fast. Hope everyone enjoyed this quick inside look on Porter Robinson.

This video was filmed by our friends Cinesthetics, who do some of the best Photo and Video work I’ve we’ve ever seen. Follow them on Facebook Here. This interview was filmed at Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks, check out more information on the festival here.

Savoy – DIY : Must Hear Crunchy New Dubstep

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got the latest anthem from a group that will always be one of my favorites, Savoy. They used to be based in Boulder, and now are living in New York and really blowing up on another level. You remember California Dreamin, I’m In Need, or the Nothin for Nothin EP. DIY is massive dubtsep anthem fueled with an infectiously catchy melody thoughout. Savoy has a very interesting breed of dubstep, it’s almost fit for clubs as much as house music. It’s super grimey, but still sound very smooth. I haven’t been able to stop listening to this track since I saw it in the GoPro video below. They give out alot of free music, but are trying to sell this one, so purchase through Beatport here. It’s already hitting the dubstep charts, let’s get it to #1!. Turn it up, enjoy!

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Alright, so we’ve arleady hear Flux Pavillion & Nero’s take on the anthem ‘Must Be the Feeling’ from Nero, as well as the extra crunchy Delta Heavy remix. Both we’re very sick, but if you like that heavy filthy bass, this track can’t get any grimier. Kill the Noise is on some crazy bass music fused with a metal vibe, unlike anything I’ve ever heard. It’s so heavy and epic, my body gets a little confused on how to handle it. Turn up the bass, find some MASSIVE speakers, enjoy! This remix comes out with the Flux Pavillion one on March 3rd, play on repeat below until then.

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick. Enjoy!
