Combining the soulful side of hip-hop with electronic elements is something that Pretty Lights first perfected, then artists like GRiZ and Gramatik carved their own lanes.  The next "electro-soul" artist on the rise is most definitely TSIS favorite Manic Focus. Our appreciation for this Minneapolis to Chicago transplant runs deep as TSIS has premiered his first 3 albums Definition Of The RhythmExpanding Mind and Distant Perspective. Today we get the next chapter of Manic Focus with his latest album Cerebral Eclipse being released through GRiZ's new record label Liberated Music and is available in full today, as a 100% free download on top of iTunes and Spotify.

After a first few listen throughs  it's abundantly clear that Cerebral Eclipse is without a doubt Manic Focus' best work to date. The 10 track album manages to stay true to the wobbly, spacey, funk-filled signature sound of Manic Focus, yet explores quite a bit of uncharted territory. The collaborations and features are strong, including "Life Goes On" with GRiZ and "Bumpin' in the Voodoo" with Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic that have already surfaced, and "Space Scholar Synthesis" which is previously unreleased with Michal Menert. The feature list doesn't end there, Focus also recruited fellow Chicago locals Prob Cause and Eryn Kane on "Trail Blazin" and The Coop on "Travelin In My Mind".  He even brought in NYC based drummer from Conspirator on "We Can Fly" which is another winner on the album. Cerebral Eclipse in it's entirety is a smooth listen blending chill and heavy elements seamlessly; quite the milestone in the booming career of the soulful artist. Listen to the record in full below, grab a free download, and if you feel inclined pick up your copy through iTunes. Enjoy!

Skrillex, Diplo and SNAILS Have A Collaboration Together And It Sounds Epic

Skrillex Diplo Jack U Snails

The hype surrounding producers Skrillex and Diplo under their new outfit as Jack U couldn't be higher since the collaboration's announcement. Recently we've gotten to hear what these two have been producing; from the first single "Take U There" featuring singer Kiesza released earlier this month to a two hour mix on BBC Radio 1Xtra this past weekend.  Both producers have hinted at some form of official Jack U release bigger then a single, stating different facts through twitter and interviews, ranging from either a mixtape, an EP, or even a full album.

As we've covered, Skrill and Diplo took over the Diplo and Friends radio show this weekend for a special Jack U two hour mix debuting quite a few unreleased new songs; with collaborations ranging from 2 Chainz to AlunaGeorge.  One track in particular that caught our ears was a collaboration with Montreal's newest bass icon and growing TSIS favorite, SNAILS. The track is currently untitled still as "ID".

This only further cements SNAILS as one of the most exciting new names in bass music. The collaboration, while surprising, isn't entirely unexpected considering Skrillex's support for SNAILS this year; OWSLA released two anthems by the up-and-coming producer, "Wild" and "Pump This”.  The debut of the Jack U track only adds to SNAILS breakout year now having collaborated with two of the most influential figures in electronic world.

Listen below to the preview of the song via a clip from the Jack U Diplo and Friends mix. It is one of the most brutal and epic songs I have heard in quite a while. The energy behind this track is highlighted by the insanely intrecate and strange sounds that are the woven melody.  Blending so many genres from trap to dubstep to reggae leaving us with a completely new genre we can only call “Jack Snails” or maybe "Snail U", this untitled track gets us more and more excited for what's to come. Let us know what you think of this monster below. As always, enjoy!

Sound Remedy Releases Most Impressive Song To Date With “Victory” Ft. EVVY

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: ,

Sound Remedy Victory

Sound Remedy is a producer we've been featuring for years, starting with his Nirvana and Neil Young bootleg remixes back in 2012 and he has not stopped since. The man best known for his remixes has definitely stepped up to the plate with his latest original "Victory" featuring vocalist EVVY. The song blends elements of melody, dubstep, indie, and electro all at a mid paced 112 bpm tempo that could only be described as Remedy's signature sound.  The song is full of upbeat melodies that lay perfectly with EVVY's vocals adding up to potentially the strongest Sound Remedy original song to date. If he has more tracks like this in the works the electronic world is in for a real treat. You can pick up your copy of the song through iTunes where it is now available. Enjoy!

Diplo and Skrillex Share 2 Hour Jack U Mix Full Of Unreleased Collaborations

Screen Shot 2014-10-26 at 11.38.17 AM

Diplo and Skrillex's newest joint project Jack U, the collaboration powerhouse that has headlined some select 2014 events including Ultra and Hard Summer, is rumored to also have a proper release -album, EP, or mixtape- in the works.  We heard the first track from the duo “Take U There”, just over a month ago, which featured singer Kiesza and gave us the first taste of Jack U's production.  This weekend we got to hear what else the guys have been cooking up in their brand new 2 hour long Jack U mix for Diplo and Friends radio show.

Their is so much unreleased music in this mix that it’s almost overwhelming. The producers have unveiled their collaboration with 2 Chainz called “Febreeze”; and a collaboration with exploding bass producer SNAILS which is currently untitled, yet sounds like one of biggest tunes on the entire mix. A few more Jack U songs called “Cumbia Maluca” and “Jungle Bae” are peppered throughout the mix.  Diplo also gave us the debut his collaboration with DJ Snake “Drop” in the form of the Boxinbox & Lionsize remix. DJ Snake made another debut as his remix of Skrillex’s “Dirty Vibe” was slipped in as well.

Sit back and enjoy 2 hours of mostly unreleased music that proves why these two are some of the most influential guys in the scene right now. Enjoy!

Daft Punk – One More Time (Black Boots Remix) : Future Bass / Chill Trap [Free Download]

matthias-clamer_daft-punk-cocktails-3

Daft Punk are responsible for some of the most notable dance anthems ever created; this undeniable fact has historically seen few producers step up to the challenge of remixing or bootleging any of their tracks. Earlier this year, we saw Dillon Francis step up to the plate and flip an official remix to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", turning it into a bass heavy trap banger that tore up festivals all summer.

Today we have an exciting new bootleg from producer duo Black Boots.  Delivering an impressive remix of the Daft Punk classic "One More Time" we speculate that it could even be deemed official. There is definitely some strong Flume influence in this future bass rendition of the track; highlighting the original vocals and melody while managing to turn it into a completely new track. Listen below and grab a free download. Enjoy!

Fan Reaches Out To Bassnectar Via E-Mail And A New Collaboration Is Born

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , ,

Bassnectar-595x352

Bassnectar has been known to do things a little different, one area that specifically sets him apart is how in tune he is with his massive fan base. Where some producers are far-away unreachable figures, the latest song from Bassnectar was actually born from a fan literally reaching out to the producer's e-mail and sending him tracks.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bassnectar told about how "a lot of fans send me music, either tipping me off to songs they want me to remix, asking for production tips or to see if I want to collaborate."

Craz, an aspiring producer out of New York, sent something that hit the massive producer in just the right way. "I could hear a lot of ways that his ideas could be more explosive and complete and asked if he wanted to team up on that song."

The result is a track that goes back to the older roots of Bassnectar, surly to make many long time bassheads happy as it is full of reggae-styled vocals, powerful synths and of course loads of bass. The track, "Thursty" has been released as the only orignal on the brand new Noise vs Beauty remixes album available now. You can also catch Bassnectar as he continues on his North American tour that has followed a sold out stop at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York earlier this month.

‘Run The Jewels 2′ Album Ft. Killer Mike & El-P : Hip-Hop (Limited Free Download)

Run The Jewels

We have quite the treat for you today. Run The Jewels isn't just some new rap duo making waves in the hip hop world. Killer Mike and El-P had been separately crushing the game for years, when the two rap legends pooled their talents last June on one of the years best albums with their debut, self-titled project. Today we have the latest chapter.

Last night this duo supplied the world with a free download of their forthcoming sophomore album scheduled to release on 10/27 via Nas' Mass Appeal record label. Run The Jewels are not your typical recording artists; not only did they decided to give away their album for free last night after the project had an early leak, they also have a kickstarter project titled Meow The Jewels, which was started after a fan realized they offered an option on their online store to purchase a very special edition of the new album for $40,0000 in which the entire album was recreated with only cat meows. The fan then started a kickstarter for the 40k to achieve the goal, and the campaign is currently at $63,000 and counting, well above the goal, which means Meow the Jewels will be coming a reality soon enough.

We just couldn't wait another damn day longer to share RTJ2 with you. Please enjoy the music. It was made for you.

As for the new album at hand, Run The Jewels 2 continues the duo's saga of frantic, scatterbrained raps with violent themes and straight bangers for beats. El-P is the master behind RTJ2's production, and displays his abilities to deliver a highly energetic rap beat unlike any other producer around today. Killer Mike may have described the album the best in his lyric calling their tunes "murder mayhem melodic music." RTJ2 enlists the talents of Zach De La Rocha (of Rage Against The Machine,) BOOTS, Diane Coffee, Gangsta Boo, and legendary drummer Travis Barker. A few of the standout tracks from the project include "Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)," "Jeopardy," "Lie, Cheat, Steal," but there isnt a single single skippable song on the whole album. Be sure to grab a limited free download of this newest album ahead of it's official release on October 27th. Enjoy, and try to not go burn down a police station or whatever violent urges this music gives you.
