Anton Zaslavski aka "Zedd", the German producer who became an international star in 2013 thanks to his Clarity album which won a grammy nomination for the albums lead single "Clarity" featuring Foxes. He set out on a year long Clarity Tour in support of the album and brought out a show no one would forget. Anyone who was lucky enough to catch a date of the tour was treated to a custom light and laser production setup that could light up a stadium, yet was brought to venues that were much smaller for an epic experience.
This 30 minute long documentary really captures the journey from Zedd personally setting up the production on the first night to discussing speaking with Skrillex through Myspace to reaching out to Hayley Williams For ’Stay The Night’ and much much more. This really lets you see a more personal side of Zedd showing you not only how nice of a guy he is, but also how hands on he is with the entire business of him as an artist which is rare to see.
To see Zedd experience such a level of success is really incredible making us think back to when Thissongissick actually brought out Zedd for one of his first shows in the US ever in Boulder, CO at the even more intimate Fox Theatre in 2011.
What happens when you gather 40 of the best producers, DJs, musicians, and vocalists downunder to try and create one sensational new track? Triple J radio personalities Matt and Alex made a valiant effort to construct a “Hottest 100” record with some of the biggest names in music and documented the experience for all to see.
Sadly, Lorde wanted no part in the endeavor and opted out at the first opportunity. Next, warious artists start chiming in with opinions on what it takes to build a great song, with Flume making sure everyone knew that laptops are essential in the process before Reggie Watt’s cuts out a distorted vocal sample. The mention of synths and bass, albeit the guitar, are shoved at Diplo who declines the notion while triggering Skrillex to eventually “drop the bass” accidently.
Bickering ensues amongst the group, but have no fear, because Flume was again on hand and reminded everyone that "(he) could remix the track!"
The creative process eventually leads to everyone storming out due to Rick Astley, Mr. Rick Roll himself, being kicked off the team and we are left without a true track that combines everyones talents. But hey, at least the attempt made for an entertaining 5 minute video. Laugh and enjoy!
Louis Futon has had quite the year through a series of viral remixes of the likes of Mos Def, Logic, Future and news of a forthcoming self titled release, Louis Futon EP. We've been getting teased with tracks from the EP including 'Sir Rock' or the Kill Paris remix of 'Silk', and today we get one of the last tracks before the EP's release next month on January 14th as a free download.
This new song "DRNUK" is a step in a more ambient direction than the upbeat stuff we've been hearing, yet staying in the same lane as the Wiz Khalifa remix from earlier this year. This is a song you should enjoy with a proper sound system or headphones as your laptop just won't do it justice. It is an atmospheric journey featuring some amazing chords and very strong drums that will leave you in a trance. The song is completed by the addition of some heavily effected from Drake and P. Reign's “DNF” lightly thrown in the mix.
We also have the news that Logan Zoghby has left Louis Futon, leaving Tyler Minford to take reigns as a solo act (pictured below). Tyler has let us know that there are some exciting 2015 tour plans he will be announcing in the near future.

The end of the year may be almost upon us but that hasn't stopped Golden Features from unleashing one of his biggest remixes to date. The 23 year old Australian producer has pulled out all the stops with his latest remix of the epic "Years Of War" track featured on Porter Robinson’s debut album Worlds.
The combination of these two artists is absolutely great. Taking the already feel good anthem that is “Years Of War”, Golden Features has completely flipped the script by creating a new atmosphere around the song. From the pitch on the lush vocals to the deeper, techno flavored bassline we really get to experience this club-ready song in a whole new light. You can stream the track below and download it as a free early Christmas gift, enjoy!

2014 was Seattle-based ODESZA's year to truly shine thanks to largely in part to their highly successful debut album 'In Return' (which we consider to be one of the best releases of the year), on top of crushing the festival circuit and a couple sold out tours.
The duo have just announced their biggest show to date, at one of our favorite places in the world, the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Playing at this outdoor venue in the middle of the mountains is something most artists only dream of being able to do, let alone being able to co-headline.
They will be co-headlining the venue alongside funk lords Chromeo who are Red Rocks regulars and are sure to bring an unforgettable funky time.
These are only the headliners of the evening with support to be announced in coming months. With both artists track records of selling out though, it would be wise to pick up tickets now as they just went on sale today, minutes ago. Hope to see you all there!

One of the next artists to explode out of the unstoppable Chicago rap scene is young rapper Lucki Eck$ who’s really turned some heads this year.
The talented Chicago rapper brought out the city’s current star Chance the Rapper to add the perfect intro verse to his latest song “Stevie Wonder”. Chance steps up and delivers some darker, less comical lines which fit the track perfectly. Lucki finishes the track off with a smooth gritty verse showcasing why he has so much promise. The instrumental is by Chicago’s premiere producer Young Chop who gives us an atmospheric, slightly-broken downtempo beat that both rappers really nail.

Today we have the latest from Pomo, the exciting producer out of Montreal, who is apart of the HW&W Records family (Kaytranada, Sweater Beats, Ta-Ku and more). We get our ears on one of his most impressive tracks all year, remixing UK duo AlunaGeorge's single "Supernatural". Drawing drum inspiration from label mate Kaytra and fusing these beats with a beefy bassline and catchy melodies we are left with an instant hit. Drawing influences of nu-disco, hip-hop, future bass and more it's impossible to comfortably throw this one in just one genre, which is what Pomo loves. This is stream only until the official release comes out along with the other remixes of the song. Enjoy!

BONUS: Because the song wasn't featured when it dropped last year, here is the also increidble Pomo edit of Sade's "Nothing Can Come Between Us."

Writer, actor, and rapper Donald Glover has confirmed that he will executively produce and star in an upcoming comedy pilot for a new series set to broadcast on FX. The show will be called "Atlanta", and will revolve around the rap scene in Atlanta.
“Two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy.”
We even have some news on what to expect from Donald's role in the show,
Glover will be acting as "'Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks,' a college drop-out who reconnects with his long buried ambition and sets out to seize the life he imagined for himself when his estranged cousin becomes a sudden star."
With his award winning writing for the show 30 Rock, starring in NBC's Community, and past experience in the skit show Derrick Comedy under his belt we expect Glover to really nail this new project.
Let's also keep in mind that Donald Glover is also a successful rapper under the moniker Childish Gambino. Over the past couple of years he has turned what was a hobby into a massive rap career with recent Grammy nominations for both Rap Album of The Year and Rap Record Of The Year. Can't deny the man is multi talented; we're looking forward to what he'll do with this new role.
