Mac MIller drops new song “Watching Movies” from upcoming album

Posted in Chill, Events, News by nick | Tags: , , , ,

Mac Miller has been working hard on his second full length album Watching Movies With Sound Off set for a June 18th release. This song “Watching Movies” follows up “S.D.S.” yet maintains the new extra weird new direction Mac is going with his music. The production has a very eerie ominous flavor with Mac touching on some more real topics. This sounds completely different from anything he has ever done, and exciting to see him grow as an artist. This gets me even more excited for the upcoming album. Read below for the dates on his recently announced nationwide tour. Enjoy!

Daft Punk talk on remixing their own new album, potential touring plans and inspiration for new album in first recorded interview in 6 years with Pete Tong from BBC Radio 1

Posted in Events, News, Video by nick

Guy-manuel and Thomas Bangalter more commonly known as Daft Punk sit down for the first time in 6 years for a recorded interview with Pete Tong at the 2013 Coachella Festival. They discuss their new album Random Access Memories. They discuss the homage to the 70′s and being able to “create the record they always wanted to”.

They discuss how working on the Tron feature film soundtrack using a full team of muscians opened up their creative minds to what they could do with their own music. They then decided to bring along the all star cast of guest musicians for the album including Pharrell Williams, Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, Chilly Gonzales, Julian Casablancas, and more. They brought some of the best muscians alive to help truly create the sound they have always wanted to.

Shooting down the potential for upcoming touring plans. Stating they focus on one that at a time:

Guy-manuel: “Let’s enjoy listening, and we’ll see where it takes us”

Daft Punk touching on how they might be the only producers fit for official remixes.

Guy-manuel: “We are working on some mixes ourselves”

Pete: “So could be Daft punk’s remixes of Daft Punk?”

Guy”-manuel: Yes Probably, Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk.”

Wow I can only imagine Daft Punk venturing into new genres to remix their own songs. We will keep you updated on news about the album, collaboratores, remixes, and more.

Daft Punk set to do radio show with Pete Tong BBC Radio 1 + Bonus Essential Mix

Posted in Bangin, Events, News by nick | Tags: , , , ,

The exact details are still be unveiled, but BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong has announced that Daft Punk will be doing something this Friday May 10th at 9pm. Since they did an essential mix back in 97′ there is definite chance for a followup.

We might potentially hear some new tracks off the upcoming album Random Access Memories as we creep on the released date on May 21. This is speculation based off of Pete Tong’s post of course. We will post updates here.

2:15pm UPDATE: We now have news that this Friday Pete Tong will be airing the first audio interview with the duo in 6 years that was recorded at this year’s Coachella. Since it is getting broadcasted via BBC Radio 1 we can hope for a clip of another new track off Random Access Memories. Based on them doing one in the past, an Essential Mix is defintely not unrealistic in the future.

BONUS: As a bonus we have included their 1997 BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix featuring 2 hours of some of their best classic originals, remixes and favorite tracks.
