Kasbo Press re

One of our favorite new artists to follow has been the blooming 19 year old Swedish Producer Kasbo, who’s been making noise all year through a series of remixes (Like Vance Joy) and originals (like Again and Kaliedoscope). He's also been supported by Skrillex, Porter Robinson, ODESZA amongs many more reputable names.

The young producer's been attracting interest from labels but said f*ck the system and decided to release his debut EP indepently, and even better as a free download. The Umbrella Club EP is a 5 track release that captures the various styles and sounds that define Kasbo's signature sound.

We've already heard the previously surfaced more upbeat “Not Over,” along with the extremely cinematic emotional “I Don’t Get”  but are also treated to 3 more tracks.

"There's Something About U" is one of the most exciting tracks as it takes the listner on quite a journey full of live bass plucks and bright melodies. "Fuck Love" is a simple yet effective ballad that uses trap elements in the chillest possible manner. "The Tension" closes out the release with some amazing vocal work and unbelieavble climaxes. Ranging from dance-floor ready tracks to incredibly relaxing soundscapes, this EP shows off Kasbo’s uncanny versatility as a producer as this 5 track journey is both calming and enthusiastic.

Kasbo is set to play his first run of shows ever supporting ODESZA on the first leg of their North American and he will also be making an appearance at HARD Day of the Dead festival in LA on Halloween for a highly anticipated festival debut. Enjoy!

[PREMIERE] Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics – 1 (Full Album) : Electro Soul / Funk [Free Download]

Michal Menert And The Pretty Fantastics

One of the electro-soul pioneers, Colorado's own Michal Menert has been working hard expanding his sound over the past year and has formed an entirely new band respectively being called Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics. It features 5 frequent collaborators (Marcelo Moxy, AC Lao, Daniel De Lisle, Will Glazier and Matt van den Heuvel) for a new 6 piece project.

Michal acts as the front man of the group producing all of the tracks and even lending his vocals on some of the tracks. This is a step in a more indie rock direction for Michal, while he still manages to carry over his signature beat driven electro-soul style. He channels various influences from hip-hop to various forms of rock, funk, soul and more for a unique live electronic hybrid that is a perfect extension of the Menert sound we've come to love.

We are excited to premiere the debut full release 1 EP with a full stream and coinciding free download. Listen below and grab a copy. Enjoy!

To all our U.S. readers: You can also see the group as Michal hits the road for a 36 date full length tour, see all te dates below.

Download Drake & Future’s New Mixtape ‘What A Time To Be Alive’

Posted in Bangin, Mixtapes / Albums by Jake | Tags: , , ,

Word about a collaborative mixtape between Future and Drake has been circling the internet and it turns out the rumors are true! 2015 has proven to be an epic year for hip-hop as traditional album rollouts seem to have gone out the window with new approaches taking over. Drake seemingly broke the internet earlier this year with his surprise album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, which is the first album released this year to go platinum.

We couldn’t be more excited for What A Time To Be Alive as these two previously showed off their obvious chemistry on Future’s “Where Ya At” from his recent album Dirty Sprite 2.  It's undeniable that these are two of the biggest current rappers, and they've now teamed up for one of the year's biggest releases. This new album includes 11 tracks and you can stream them all below with the full tracklist below and pick up your copy at 8pm EST when it drops on iTunes according to Drake's instagram. Enjoy

Listen To Young Thug’s New 19 Track “Slime Season” Mixtape Featuring Lil Wayne [Free Download]

There's something about Young Thug that's bizarrely intriguing. From his cross dressing to his incredibly catchy and mostly indistinguishable lyrcis, this Lil Wayne inspired rapper's ad-libs are as hilarious as his fashion style.

From first being put on the map by Birdman and Lil Wayne, to being a part of the Rich Gang crew with Rich Homie Quan & Birdman, Thugger has had some huge success establishing his name. One of Young Thug’s most recognizable recent tracks to date was his feature on Jaime XX’s “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times),” which has gone on to become a cross-genre summer anthem.

There is no word about the pushed back release date for his debut album with the unpronounceable name Hy!£UN35 (formerly set for August 28th), but today we get his latest mixtape Slime Season in full, to both stream and  download for free.

Regardless of his public feud with Lil Wayne, we interestingly hear him featured on the tapes' lead single "Take Kare." This 18-track mixtape also has features from Quavo & Offset (of Migos), Young Ralph, and Peewee Longway. Grab the free download here and enjoy!
