Breakout Norwegian superstar producer and DJ Kygo has blossomed before our very eyes in 2014 including an international album deal with Sony / Ultra, every show on his headlining US tour selling out, and some unreal collaborations brewing.
The young artist has just secured one of his biggest moments yet, a main stage slot at the 2nd annual TomorrowWorld next week, filling in for international powerhouse producer Avicii. This comes after Avicii was forced to cancel all future dates due to health concerns leaving TomorrowWorld fans curious on who would fill the slot.
Kygo is confirmed to be playing TomorrowWorld on Friday, September 26th from 6:15 – 7:15pm on the Main Stage. This is a set you can't afford to miss if you're making the trip to Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia for summers last noteworthy music festival.
This is quite the upgrade for everyone who tends to hang around the main stage and might not be aware of Kygo's unique brand of Tropical House vibes. You won't find any big room or progressive house builds here, just pure summer-time bliss like the Diplo & Friends mix featured below that Kygo created this year.
With the unreal momentum Kygo has going for him right now, what could possibly be next?
Also his newest North American Endless Summer Tour is kicking off at the end of the month with only a couple dates with any tickets remaining.
Around 4 years ago when Thissongissick.com was in its early stages, I stumbled across an equally new platform called SoundCloud and fell in love instantly with its simple user interface. The beauty that we found helped us build a visually balanced experience and allowed us to not be forced to embed the bulky YouTube player.
As a site who's sole purpose is to report on music releases from artists across the world, I entrusted this platform as the future of music sharing and started reaching out to artists for permission to host the songs we were featuring on our SoundCloud account.
All while our account grew, we continued to share music and foster a community that loved quality music as much as we did. This community is something that I am personally honored to have been a part of. As of today, that community has reached over 500,000 followers and has become one of the largest accounts active on SoundCloud (By Daily and Overall plays).
We are set to break half of a billion plays within the next two months and see an average of 2 million plays every 24 hours. Those numbers are seriously incomprehensible in my mind and I must say thank you to all who've enjoyed listening to and following the content we have posted over the last 4 and half years.
Now on to the unfortunate news. Recently, SoundCloud representatives reached out to us shedding light on outstanding DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) claims that we have since been attempting to clear up. These claims had accumulated in number over the last few years but; as a result of a fault in their system, had not been communicated to us.
As some of you may know, the SoundCloud platform is changing (for better or for worse we will soon see) and we have been issued an ultimatum: resolve all outstanding takedown orders that had been presented to us or have your account suspended. Thanks in part to some amazing help from friends, artists and labels that we support, we have been incredibly successful in resolving a majority of these takedowns. By providing verification to SoundCloud of our relationships with artists, PR agents, managers, labels and various rights holders, we have done our best to keep a channel you love up and sharing amazing music.
Unfortunately, it has not been enough to overcome the politics at play in our situation.
It is important to note that we have been working with some amazing people at SoundCloud and appreciate the extra help and support they have provided. Sadly, this support and commitment to maintaining SoundCloud's largest music account stops there. Bound to some tricky copyright technicalities – and as a result of increased pressure from legal teams protecting SoundCloud's liability – we have received notification that the account will be temporarily suspended. We will continue to work on this issue in hopes that we can restore our account to what it once was.
So have no fear. Our Soundcloud will be coming back! We are going to make sure its return will be bigger than ever and that is a promise from me to you.
In the mean time; to help out, you could share this post and also Subscribe to our YouTube channel where we will be uploading our upcoming premieres and featured content until our account gets brought back.
The super group that's created a massive storm of excitement throughout the music industry is set to ring in the New Year in style as Diplo and Skrillex are scheduled to perform as Jack U once again!
The duo's individual careers have blossomed before our very eyes over the last few years with countless single releases, albums, and worldwide tours propelling their status as two of dance music's elite producers. A natural friendship grew over a mutual respect for each others talents and paved the way for the creation of Jack U, who just debuted their first official single "Take U There" on prestigious radio MC Zane Lowe's BBC radio program.
They two will descend upon the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City and will deliver independent performances along with a special set as Jack U. Though supporting acts are yet to be named, we can guaranteed anyone commissioned to open before Skrillex and Diplo take the stage is going to further add to this massive show. Tickets for the general public go on sale this Friday, September 19th at 12pm EST, but if you happen to be an American Express Card Member you can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, September 16th at 10am EST.
Zedd is set to release his sophomore studio album with a projected release date being early 2015.
Grammy-winning German house producer Zedd certainly has the skills to balance numerous successful radio hits while also turning out countless house tracks that have become festival anthems. His debut album Clarity saw huge acclaim with "Clarity" and "Break Free" both charting across the globe and also managed to catapult the artist into a league of extraordinary top acts.
Zedd recently announced via Billboard that his sophomore studio album release is heavily underway and should be wrapped up by early 2015. He also mentioned dropping a single or two in the next 6 months
He is in converstaions with Hayle Williams (Of Paramore) about a followup collaboration to the highly succesful "Stay The Night", which would be on the album. Zedd unveiled his active plans to work with both Muse and Silverchair, two bands that "really inspired" Zedd; yet those names are just on the wishlist currently. Zedd also mentions that most of the album is written and it's just now about producing all the tracks to where he sees fit.
Zedd also states that his hearing has returned fully and was nothing serious. Just needed to catch up on some much needed sleep.
"It’s hard to find time to sit down and focus on it. I’ve written most of the songs but the production process is long for me – making them sound the way I want them to sound, finding the right vocalists, and so on." - Zedd
deadmau5 is a Toronto native and has been known outside of his music for his popular "Coffee Run" video series where he takes guests in his car like Skrillex and Dillon Francis, Zedd or Pharrell. Well he brought this idea to the streets as he was an Uber driver for the evening in the downtown Toronto area. Here are his tweets announcing it and look below for the video recap of him actually picking up passengers that were lucky enough that evening. Who knows if he might do it again.
Bass enthusiast and lover of all things hard as shit, Figure has announced a very special run of fall shows being dubbed "Terrorvision" kicking off October 17th. These run of shows will be unlike any peformance you've seen to date with Figure incorporating horror film footage to every single one of the songs in his sets. The partnership with Rane / Serato is certainly something you don't want to miss as it will be a unique live visual experience, which is inspired from his Monsters themes. Look at the teaser of the tour below and read what Figure had to say about the upcoming string of shows. Tour dates for the entire run are listed below with some exclusive limited pre-sale tickets available for purchase today while supplies last. Also you can expect Figure's upcoming Monsters volume 5 dorpping on October 14th.
Here is a quote from Figure himself about his vision of the tour.
Terrorvision has been a concept I've been putting together for some time now, something I thought would go really well with my annual Monsters series.
I wanted to create the ability to compile tons of custom edited clips the same way I have compiled tons of music for my sets over the years. I'm a horror buff and I've amassed an extensive collection of classic shock theatre and obscure films which is definitely an inspiration for the visual direction on this tour.
Through partnering with Rane/Serato and using their hardware I now have the ability to map these custom visuals to my music on the fly, adding a brand new element to my live show. Many artists look at visuals as a way to simply customize the blank slates of wall behind them. With Terrorvision it's another dimension of my music. An intense visual backdrop giving my fans a window into where i draw inspiration; my vision as a producer, coming together on stage where the visuals brings it all to life.
Figure "Terrorvision" Tour dates after the jump.

We waited patiently on more announcements about Deadmau5' upcoming "Entropy" tour in 2015, which was first announced via Twitter in early August and today we have further information via 2 mysterious Youtube videos Zimmerman tweeted just minutes ago. Hopefully the "Entropy" tour will include his 5 year multi-million dollar vision of the "360" arena show he was speaking of earlier in March. This is all we know for now but will keep you up to date as the news comes in. Enjoy
Daft Punk fans could be in store for some new music as Guy-Manuel Homem-Christo is said to be working on a solo album of his own.
Reported by French publication Tungi, we have the broken translation of the news: "According to our sources, one half of Daft Punk , Guy-Manuel Homem-Christo , is currently register a solo album in the near western suburbs of Paris. Of course, no release date has yet been scheduled, but what is already known is that it will be full of guests on this album".
The producers have rarely created music outside of their work as Daft Punk, so a full album is extremely exciting. Should we be expecting a cast of the amazing French artists he has worked on in the past like when he helped with Sebastian Tellier's "Sexuality" and or Kavinsky's irritable "Nightcall" (Listen below).
Kavinsky – Nightcall (Produced by Guy-Manuel Homem-Christo)
It is looking like something very cool is coming and we will keep you updated as more info rolls through.
DJ / Producer Skrillex has proven himself a huge tastemaker and relative bass ambassador in the EDM world with platinum record selling productions from himself and releasing other artists music on his record label OWSLA. Today he continues to showcase his tastemaking abilities even more as a newly created playlist on Sonny's Soundcloud titled "Skrillex Selects" (similar to Diplo's "Diplo Approved" channel) with tracks including Dillon Francis new single "I Can't Take It", Banks "Goddess", recent TSIS premiere of Must Die! "Hellcat" and more. Skrillex's selection appears to be tracks that he has been feeling lately and doesn't stick to any particular genre. We hope to see more artists follow in this fashion as it is a key tool for smaller artist's music to be heard by the masses. Listen to the playlist below and most of all…Enjoy

So a few days back Disney decided to file a lawsuit against Deadmau5 claiming that his mau5head mouse logo was too simliar to their Mickey Mouse logo and infringed on their rights. You can see the two images compared side to side above.
While there is obviously some similarities with the 3 circles, smile and minimalstic design, it seemed pretty insane. Also with the fact that he has registered for a trademark in 30 other countries already. Well since America is America, when he tried to apply to get it in the US, he in return is facing a potential lawsuit with Disney.
Well just an hour ago Deadmau5 unleashed onto Facebook that Disney has actually done the unthinkable, in the middle of this heated debate between the two, Disney has decided to use his popular song "Ghosts N Stuff" without permission in a new online Disney "Re-micks" video edited to some Mickey cartoons. Watch the video here. (Before it gets taken down)
Deadmau5 seems to be very confident about the situation.
Deadmau5 actually has filed a cease and decist for the unpermitted content. The mau5 has gone ahead and uploaded the actual document, see what his team has to say below.
