After making headlines for a variety of reasons over the past few months, deadmau5 has just released some of the coolest news to date. The artist released an aerial photo via Twitter this morning announcing that he is set to build a 45,000 square foot mega studio. On top of this announcement, he also stated that he will be doing less club shows and more "epic stage shows".
He has said:
"where im putting EDM money. less club gigs, a few epic stage shows, a 45,000sqft studio complex for actual musicians."
It is very interesting to hear "for actual musicians", signifying that a big focus for the studio will be live elements, something that has always helped his production stand out.
This is also points to the potential expansion of his mau5trap label with a new roster of signed artists to have access to the studio upon completion. We're looking forward to what's to come!
Still exploding from the success of his debut studio album Money Sucks, Friends Rule, and just after releasing a free Rebirth version of one of it's songs, Dillon Francis shows no sign of slowing down. We just now got word of a brand new 4 song Moombahton EP on the horizon. We know it will have a colossal collaboration with Skrillex that you can hear below. The EP will also feature the song he opened his EDC Las Vegas set with, and 2 other brand new ones. This news has been revealed through a very exciting tweet just moments ago. See below!

TomorrowWorld 2014 was without a doubt a special event. This year was the festival's second in the states at Georgia's Chattahoochee Hills and topped 2013 far and away. Producers ID&T bring out the best lineup and biggest stages and production, to recreate Belgium's 10-year-running TomorrowLand. Attendees were in for quite the special treat this year.
If you weren't able to make it, TomorrowWorld has released a 13 minute official aftermovie giving a glimpse of what the festival experience was like, and what to expect next year. They even throw in a few unreleased tracks in the movie.
For 2015, Tomorrowworld will be returning over September 25-26-27. You can purchase tickets here! Be sure to check back in on more updates for TW.
A little under 2 months ago, we were faced with the unfortunate situation of having the TSIS Soundcloud channel temporarily suspended after an unfortunate error within Soundcloud that did not let us see copyright claims from years past. We spent a seemingly endless period working with all the labels involved and Soudncloud's support to clear the claims. If you want to know more information on what happened, you can read the initial statement here.
Now we have the news everyone has been waiting for; WE ARE BACK ONLINE, and better than ever. This down period really opened our eyes to how important and influential our single Soundcloud account has been for so many artists' careers. We have a very powerful tool in the music industry to help break unknown artists; we can bring someone who has virtually never been heard before to an audience of hundreds of thousands in a matter of days. This very idea of helping expose new deserving artists with no other means of exposure is one of our favorite things we do here at TSIS. Since having the account down, we have had time to think of other ways we can expand what we present for artists and fans. We have some exciting announcements regarding artist mix series and playlists in the coming weeks, but right now we have a gift that starts today.
To celebrate the return of our Soundcloud we are having a party, an online party, that everyone can be apart of. 12 Straight Days of Free Downloads from some of the site's favorite artists. There is a mixture of some star studded artists and newcomers for 12 days of treats you won't forget. Some of the songs are only going to be available as a free download for the 12 day period, so be sure to check back everyday. Check back on the site and this post for the next 12 days (Monday – Friday) for a new download every day!
We just launched the first day with an incredible remix from ODESZA of Slow Magic's "Waited 4 U" | Free Download

Thomas Jack has been making quite a global splash pioneering his Tropical House sound through reworks and his Tropical House Mix series presented by TSIS. The DJ has been tearing up clubs and festivals all year and is gearing up to takeover America in a serious way. Starting January 30th he will embark on a 13 date North American tour. He will be bringing out fellow tropical house mate from Amsterdam Sam Feldt and Parid house rising star Faul to open up and set the tone just right.
Kicking off in LA at El Rey the "On & Off Tour" will run through February 28th ending in Seattle at Crocodile and TSIS has limited pre-sale tickets available for purchase right now.
Chance the Rapper continues to be one of the most exciting new voices in hip-hop while managing to stay completely independent. The lack of a major label has not prevented the flow of music, as we've seen a series of free singles released alongside his band The Social Experiment in the past few months like the Wonder Everyday (Arthur Theme), No Better Blues and I Am Very Very Lonely among others. So it did not come as a huge surprise, when Chance revealed in a recent Billboard article that he has been working on quite a bit of new music – a few albums worth of material – and we can expect the first one by the end of the year.
The first album will be called Surf and highlights The Social Experiment band member Nico Segal aka Donnie Trumpet, a versatile musician and trumpet player of the group. To make things even better this album will be available completely for free and we can expect it before the end of the year, leaving us feeling like the holidays are coming early!
Surf is the first project since Acid Rap that Chance is heavily involved in, and we can only imagine that it will be some of his strongest work to date. Furthermore, the rapper went on to reveal some of the collaborations he has the in works mentioning the likes of Migos, J. Cole, Frank Ocean, Emily Kang and even some guidance from Rick Rubin.
We will keep you posted as more info rolls in on Surf.
Here's his collaboration with James Blake on the "Round Here Remix" that is such a hit
One of the most unique and exciting projects in both electronic and live music will continue to be Gorillaz, represented by the virtual characters: Noodle, 2D, Murdoc Niccals, and Russel Hobbs. The Damon Albarn led project, after releasing 4 studio albums and some very special 9-piece band live performances, went on hiatus in 2012 leaving everyone wanting more. Previous Gorillaz tracks have included collaborations with countless big-name artists ranging from Snoop Dogg, to MF DOOM, to Del The Funky Homosapien, to Lou Reed. The hiatus was at first thought to be a falling out between frontman and singer Damon Albarn and other half of the project, Jamie Hewlitt, who is both the co-creator and animator, but these rumors have been lifted revealing they are on great terms.
Damon Albarn has just revealed official news in a recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, as part of an article on his debut solo album Everyday Robots which is now available. In the piece, he mentions that the Gorillaz project is already in the process of "reactivating" for a potential 2016 album release.
This is huge news that we couldn't be more excited to hear, and hopefully we'll see new tracks roll out sooner then 2016. We've already begun speculating who Damon might be aiming to collaborate with on the new album considering the incredible cast of artists to have emerged in the past few years. What if they brought out someone like Kendrick Lamar or A$AP Rocky or even some singers like The Weeknd? We'll of course keep you posted as more details roll in. For now, enjoy a full stream of their iconic album Demon Days.

The elusive ZHU doesn't tend to do things as most would consider normal, instead he pushes the boundaries every step in his explosive new career. Just last week we reported on some Zhu posters popping up around NYC, and today have a confirmation on what they mean.
The two dates on the posters November 21st and 22nd are the dates marking ZHU's first ever series of headline live shows which will be known as THE NIGHTDAY EXPERIENCE taking place in NYC at still undisclosed locations.
We discover Zhu's love for fashion as the tickets will solely be available at the flagship high fashion store Opening Ceremony. Address is 35 Howard St. in the SoHo district. Tickets will be available this Thursday at 5:30pm EST. Ticket buyers will also receive a limited NIGHTDAY EP vinyl. (Only 2 tickets per person)
With how small we expect these shows to be, I wouldn't hesitate grabbing your own tickets as I'd expect a pretty fast sell out.
To celebrate the announcement, ZHU has also unveiled some impressive new visuals for the single "Paradise Awaits" from his NIGHTDAY EP. Watch the video below. Enjoy!
ZHU – Paradise Awaits (Official Music Video) | iTunes
The pic on the left was taken on Thames & Vandervoot and on the right Wythe & 6 in NYC.
If you've followed our coverage on enigmatic producer ZHU since the release of "Faded" and "Moves Likes Miss Jackson" creations that didn't even bare the artists name, you know he doesn't do things exactly like everyone else. With a succesful Nightday EP and only a small run of high-profile live performances in Australia under his belt on the touring Listen Out festival (we covered the fan video), the buzz is high for ZHU's first set of headline shows following up his debut performance at HARD Day of the Dead later this month. Recently some interesting posters have begun surfacing in New York City that could indicate ZHU is making his appearance in the Big Apple soon.
A TSIS reader recognized the first poster on the corner of Thames & Vandervoot before snapping a photo and sending over to us. When we reached back out for more evidence, she sent us another photo of the same "Z" painted poster located on Wythe & 6th. While this certainly makes it evident that something is happening, we still can't be sure as to what. After all, ZHU remains unpredictable and shrouded in mystery. Could a new EP be on the horizon?
As you can see, ZHU's signature "Z" symbol is laid over a shot of the Brooklyn Bridge with two dates below November 21st and 22nd. Could this mark ZHU's first ever North American headline shows with the great city of New York being his intended destination? We believe so, and will be scouring the streets and internet for anymore info and will update this post as anything else comes in! As always, enjoy.
As we wrap up the biggest summer festival season North America has ever seen, we start to prepare for some of the most exciting New Year Eve events to bring an end to 2014 in the best way imaginable. SnowGlobe, a music festival taking place in the gorgeous setting of Lake Tahoe, California is set to return for its 4th year. This year is easily going to be the biggest year the festival will have seen to date, largely thanks to the unreal lineup they have curated.
From headliners Skrillex, Flume, Disclosure (DJ Set), Porter Robinson (Live) and Zedd, to the top level acts like legendary underground hip-hop duo Atmosphere and DJs Flux Pavilion and Odesza help set the tone of the festival. Live acts Phantogram, Cherub, Emancipator Ensemble and The Floozies will help to mix things up while Bro Safari, Justin Martin, Thomas Jack, Trippy Turtle, Branchez, Djemba Djemba, Party Favor, Le Youth, J. Philp and Slaptop will help keep the DJ presence high.
This will be commencing over the December 29th – 31st weekend, and from attending years pasts, this is not one you should miss out on. Tickets for the weekend just went on sale and are available for purchase via SnowGlobe's website now.
