Breakout UK producer and DJ Mat Zo who's unable to stick with one style or genre has always wanted to do things his own way, so estasblishing his own imprint within the electronic world only made sense. Mat Zo joins the ranks of Diplo (Mad Decent), Skrillex (OWSLA), Claude VonStroke (Dirtybird), A Trak (Fools Gold) and others by starting his very own music label called Mad Zoo and has wasted little time in putting out its debut release via a two track The Up Down Left Right EP. The first single off the release is a disco-filled collaboration with The Knocks titled "Get Up 2 Get Down", and the newest track showcases Mat Zo at his finest yet again as he puts together an techy array of electro twists and house appeal on "Left and Right". Skrillex 2014 Fall Tour Dates After The Jump
Diplo is quite the guy I must say. He's never one to let up on providing entertainment from his stream of greatness via social media or jokingly acknowledging that his recent cut of Lorde "Tennis Court" didn't exceed the remix done by friend and Australian powerhouse producer Flume. The Mad Decent head honcho recently took to Reddit to conduct an AMA and shared some juicy news on his supergroup project with Skrillex known as Jack U. The breakout collaboration of these two titans is coming out with a full length mixtape, which is something that could potentially crash the internet upon its release. The overflow of new material between the two found its way into Diplo's recently as he played out their first single "Take You There" in front of a daytime crowd. Though the video doesn't have the best audio, you can hear the excitement (largely the two girls confessing their love for Diplo) as songstress Kiesza lays down her pipes over a Jack U produced trap and bass beat that screams massive banger. Until we see the official release of the single or the news on the highly anticipated mixtape… Enjoy!
Jack U – Take You There feat. Kiesza (Played by Diplo)
The very thought of summer coming to an end is one we have trouble believing yet still have a few more top level festivals to keep us in high spirits. As people contemplate their end of season festivities, I'd like to share a few reasons why those still searching for plans should at least give thought to joining the thousands of us who will descend upon the majestic Union Park located in Chicago, IL for the fifth anniversary celebration of North Coast Music Festival; summers official last stand. Having graced this 3-day blowout event since its inception as an avid concert goer to now being a part of the official media outlet has been something of a dream come true. The ease of getting to North Coast is unparalleled to many other festival of its size that we've experienced firsthand. With over 25,000 people expected to be congregating in the Union Park each day, you will easily be able connect with fellow concert-goers as you make your way to and from the grounds each day.
The greatness of the lineup is the real reason why this festival has become renowned by many as the perfect end of summer's escape. There's music for everyone to witness and enjoy! With Bassnectar and his mainstage heavy bass hitters, Snoop Dogg & Kid Cudi bringing the true hip-hop vibes, and a new looking STS9 as the events main headliners, the lineup features an equally impressive spread of acts ranging from top producers & DJs including bass music assassins Zeds Dead, electro soul / saxophone specialist GRiZ, dubstep / electro sensations Adventure Club, and electro house's finest fleet of talent Dada Life, Alesso, Wolfgang Gartner, Showtek, Nicky Romero, W&W to the amazing indie bands Little Dragon, Future Island, Wild Belle, Dr. Dog, as well as hip-hop styles from the likes of Action Bronson, Riff Raff and Chicago locals ProbCause and Saba plus over 50 more acts over a three day period with a guaranteed national holiday / recovery day afterwards! What more could you ask for?
The Festival Atmosphere
Anyone true Chicagoan will talk your ear off at great lengths on why the city is the perfect place to reside or visit during the blissful summer months. With many flocking into the city over Labor Day weekend to attend the North Coast, it provides a wonderful atmosphere of good vibrations between many walks of life to come together and share a common love of live music with friends new and old. Memorable moments are to be created at random within the enchanted setting and will linger in the minds and hearts of all heading into fall / winter.
