Cashmere Cat: Incredible Down Tempo Smooth Electronic Producer from Norway – “Aurora” + “Fallin Love (Cashmere Cat Remix)”

Posted in Uncategorized by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

Today I’d like to get you all more properly acquainted with Cashmere Cat. His name is August and he is an incredible producer and DJ from Norway who makes some amazing down tempo smooth electronic music fueled by his signature powerful drum. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform live this past week at SXSW in Austin and was absolutely blown away.  This first track is his remix to BenZel’s “Falling In Love”. The percussion is to clean and on point adding the perfect background for him to do some unreal vocal sampling that is unbelievably easy to listen to.

The Cat manages to carry out a certain airy freshness to every single one of his productions coming off extra light.  Next up is his recent single “Aurora” that recently got released on a Feathers compiliaton. He uses some interesting insutrments and knocks you in the face with his drums. Turn these up, start growing in love if you haven’t already with Cashmere Cat. Enjoy!

Borgore & DJ Carnage – Incredible : Must Hear Progressive / Electro House Anthem [Spinnin Records]

Posted in Uncategorized by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

We had featured the versatile producer Carnage, (formerly Dj Carnage) a few times on TSIS, but he started turning heads on another level once he asked me to premiere his first massive Festival Trap remix to “Spaceman” by Hardwell. The remix brought trap flavor to the EDM festival / rave world like never before and has ended up getting played by every DJ around the world from Tiesto to Diplo as well as seeing an official release from Hardwell.

Well Carnage has been working with dubstep beast Borgore to create a genre changing electro house debut for both of them, and what a better label to do is then the worldwide prestigious house giant Spinnin Records. The result is a full fledged bass filled rave banger that instantly puts you in the mindset that you are raging a festival with thousands of others. The pauses before the drops added a level of suspense few artists dare to mess with. You can plan to hear this song at every festival and rave for the rest of your life. This song is now available for purchase through Beatport. Turn this up, enjoy!

Krewella – Come & Get It : Smooth Drumstep Single with Seductive Vocals

Posted in Uncategorized by nick | Tags: , , ,

Krewella has become one of hottest acts to emerge this year, packing seductive female vocals with brutal bass for an unstoppable combo. They are back with the first single since their Play Hard EP. “Come & Get It” is the first song on their upcoming Play Harder EP, which features some of the best remixes of their best tracks. This song has a little bit more of a pop influence, which doesn’t surprise me as they recently signed with major label Columbia Records. Regardless still a very sick track, and I am sure we will see a fair amount of remixes. Turn this up, enjoy!

Cazzette – Beam Me Up (Music Video) : Euphoric Electro House / Dance Video

Posted in Uncategorized by nick

The mysterious swedish duo Cazzette have certainly made a name for themselves over the past year, through supporting Avicii on tour, as well playing a lengthy festival circuit including the big ones like EDC Vegas and Ultra. This song ‘Beam Me up’ is off their upcoming EJECT PT.1, which is the first half of their debut album. The video has almost mysterious almost Cloverfield movie vibe with two cassette spaeships hovering over some fantasy city. The giant spaceships play the sounds of Cazzette causing a non-stop unctrollable global dance party upon it. Defintely very original concept. This album should be pretty incredible. Enjoy!

The Weeknd – Rolling Stone (Music Video) + Announces Release of Trilogy : Powerful Symbolic Music Video

Posted in Chill, Uncategorized by nick | Tags:

The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) has captured the world’s eye by releasing 3 self-produced free albums independently over the past 2 years earning him one of the most impressive underground fan bases I’ve ever seen. He attracted so much attention that major label Atlantic Records is forming his own imprint label called XO.   The initial release, Trilogy will be a proper release of The Weeknd’s first three iconic releases: House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echos of Silence. You can get the proper release on November 8th. Couldn’t mean it enough, this guy is a legend in the making.

The Weeknd – Rolling Stone | Download

To coincide with Trilogy, he creates his first major music video, featuring video of himself for the first time. It’s for the song “Rolling Stone”, which was released on his first album House of Balloons. It’s very interesting that he chooses to make a video for this song in particular, because it brings up one of The Weeknd’s reoccurring fears, comparing loosing a girl to loosing his fans. Listen to the line “I got you baby, I got you, Until you’re use to my face, and the mystery fades” Talking about winning his fans over, luring them in with his mystery, they get used to him, and it fades. I think the video symbolizes that entire message. He has a girl holding him the whole video, then her arms get more exposed, signifying him as an artist getting more exposed. Then at the very end flashes apear more and more frequent, symbolizing getting more attention and fame. And then the girl disappears at the very end, symbolizing him loosing his underground intial fanbase that carried him up from nothing. Do you agree? Do you feel he will loose his initial underground fanbase once he enters the mainstream? Do you think because he produces all his own music his sound will never change?

Noosa - Sound Remedy Remix

Noosa.. not the delicious greek yogurt.. the new indie singer who reminds me a little of Eliie Goulding and Adele gets an insanely well done remix to her song “Walk On By”. It’s by Sound Remedy, the guy who’s made HUGE remixes of other tracks like Neil Young’s Old Man and Band of Horse – Funeral. This track is incredibly good, the smooth vocals mixing with a melodic bass lines provides an epic combination that works great. It sounds like dubstep.. but faster.. After a few listens your going to have a hard time hitting stop. Enjoy!
