Today we have the followup with the premiere of “Rave Weapon 2″, taken from his upcoming Ammunition Pt. 3 EP, set to release on OWSLA next week, April 2nd. “Rave Weapon 2″  is a relatively dark garage influenced track with some techno and house elements. It has relatively calm progressive intro section then drops the full out grittiness around 1:30 making for a unique sounding track. Excited for the rest of the EP. Enjoy!

Posted in Bangin, Mix / Playlist, Video by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Anyone unaware of what a Steve Aoki live concert is like, have no fear and look above. He is not your typical DJ, he will stand behind the tables mixing about half the time, and spend the other half riding the crowd with a raft, slamming them with cakes, and untradtional DJ moves. He somehow has managed to make all of these things be what defines him and his live show. You can see it in all his glory on one of the biggest stages he has ever played, main stage at the 2013 Ultra Music Festival. You can watch the entirety above, you can also listen to the mix below. He dropped quite a few new tracks in this mix, see the track-list below. Enjoy!

What are your thoughts on Steve Aoki throwing cakes and riding rafts?

Major Lazer just let loose another new cut from Free the Universe, their upcoming album. This song “Watch Out For This (Bumaye)” which packs their signature dancehall flavor fit to set speakers off. The song starts off with a smooth reggae / jungle vibe adding some blasting horn section whose melody will get stuck in your head. It then progresses to to one of the heaviest, rawest drops I have ever heard come out of Major Lazer. Jillionaire guides the track well over the incredible production from Diplo. Also enjoy the interesting lyric video accompanying the track. You can pre-order the album below. Enjoy!
