Massive songstress Lorde has curated the soundtrack for the upcoming motion picture The Hunger Games – Mockingjay: Part 1, and today we hear a rework of the soundtrack's lead single from an unlikely source.
The production team brought on Kanye West to deliver a unique modification to “Yellow Flicker Beat”, shortened to “Flicker”. The lack of rapping from Kanye shouldn’t come as a surprise since he was initially recognized as a producer, and still plays a strong role in the production of his own material. This “rework” of the song adds the right amount of dark, spacey influence to change up the original, and draws some definite parallels from his Yeezus album.
Anyone else blown away at the fact this collaboration happened? Enjoy.
There have been many holdups surrounding the release of Lupe Fiasco’s 5th studio album Tetsuo & Youth, but the long awaited release date has been confirmed for January 20th of next year.
Coinciding with the release announce we also get the first single from the project, “Deliver”. Perhaps one of the strongest tracks we’ve heard from Lupe in quite some time; the song features some fitting background vocals from Ty Dolla $ign.
Lupe gets extra political on this track. The topic surrounds realities of life in America's ghettos like not being able to get pizza delivered to areas of his home city of Chicago as they are viewed as high risk zones. Lupe brings home the message perfectly and has us more excited then ever on what else the upcoming release has in store. Enjoy!

Lido has become one of the most in demand artists in the world of electronic music right now; turning heads with his Money EP and countless remixes. Today he has stepped outside of his heavily bass-influenced production to deliver a very special remix of Flight Facilities' new single “Two Bodies”. Breaking the song down to it’s core, Lido left just the vocals of the original track in tact and laid down a chilling piano line. Surprisingly, the entire remix is very minimal; only including a few small sections of the electronic style he is known for. It’s a bold move releasing something so different and really shows a different side of the talented producer. Enjoy!

Experimental beatmaker Baauer has developed a signature style in the trap and bass genres by pulling sounds from across the internet and manipulating them via digital production programs. His catalog of original creations (including the viral sensation "Harlem Shake") and some highly impressive remixes (AlunaGeorge's "Attracting Flies") have captivated a global audience, and transformed Baauer into a trendsetter that seeks to push boundaries. Without a full-fledged project to his name, Baauer, with the help of Red Bull and trusted creative mentor Nick Hook, embarked on a mission to collect sounds from abstract regions of the world for his debut release, ß EP.
The creative process was documented from start to finish in the new film "Searching For Sound", with Baauer and Nick selecting the United Arab Emirates and Japan as prime destinations for finding untapped sounds. The documentary gives a brief look at how every culture conceptualizes drastically different approaches to music; from the instruments they all specialize in to the general structure of musical compositions. The indigenous people from both countries were willing to share their musical heritage, while Baauer took in each experience and recorded the sounds. In the film, we see Baauer and Nick capturing everything from foreign instrumentation to camel grunts.
It is clear that the journey changed Baauer's musical creative process, and the evidence of his newfound discoveries helped shape each track on ß EP. The single "One Touch" will have you hitting replay more then once with vocals from AlunaGeorge and emerging rap duo Rae Sremmurd. The second standout track on the release is "Floreana"; a melody-driven spacey journey chuck full of foreign samples. The EP is one of the best examples of how trap and bass music continues to progress into more than just party anthems, while still managing to go hard.

Who's up for some Sunday cartoons (not the kind that you watched as a kid)? Chance the Rapper made his second TV appearance last night by supplying the voice for a cartoon Bob Marley in Adult Swim’s show Black Dynamite. The Chicago rapper seemed right at home dishing up a cool Jamaican accent, imitating the legend and keeping his signature vocal tonnage. As expected, "Bob" lives up to the Marley name, lighting up multiple oversize joints and sweet talking many of the show's female characters throughout the episode. Erika Badu's distinct voice is also featured in the episode, as both a hilarious prostitute and Marley's real-life wife Rita. Pour yourself a bowl of cereal and watch the rip of the full cartoon below. Enjoy!
The idea of a mashup / bootleg has almost entirely disappeared in 2014, that is unless it is one of the very rare occasions where it sounds like a completely new song. Today we get one of the most impressive mixes we have ever heard; a blend of BANKS' hit indie single "Drowning" setting the tone for vocals from 2pac's rap anthem "Thugz Mansion" mixed together by Carlos Serrano. The combination of both tracks sounds so natural it's unreal; with 2Pac's verses perfectly bouncing back and forth with BANKS' smooth chrous. Listen below to the song and grab a free download thanks to Carlos Serrano. Enjoy!

Knife Party have been teasing the release of their debut studio album Abandon Ship! over the past few months leaking tracks like "Begin Again" and "Boss Mode", while also pushing back the entire release of the project to work on perfecting it. Well now, a few weeks ahead of the newly scheduled release date of November 24th, the duo have decided to drop the entire project on us due to an early iTunes leak, and no one is complaining. The album brings in the festival-geared style the duo helped carve with their past releases while also incorporating more melodic influences from their Pendulum past. Songs like "EDM Trend Machine" standout on the release while still sounding great, it manages to poke fun at big room house and incorporate new trending styles like future house / deep house. You can now listen to the entire project below on top of being able to pick up a copy through iTunes which is available through their own label Earstorm Records.

A re-creation of the cult classic film Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas, the video starts off with Schoolboy building a concoction of pills and liquids similar to the drug binge from the movie. The visual effects let the viewer step into Q's shoes after ingesting all the substances. This video couldn’t be more fitting for a song titled “Hell of a Night” as girls bounce around a raging house party punctuated by a series of interesting events. The video starts and ends with the same scene as if it might start all over again, or was it just a dream? Watch the wild journey and you can pick up your copy of the song as part of Schoolboy Q's latest album Oxymoron. Enjoy!
Established music video director RoboShobo has brought to visual life one of this fall’s catchiest tunes, “Go All Night” by the impressive UK based duo Gorgon City. Their debut album, Sirens, took the deep house world by storm this fall following its Oct 7 release. The LP provided us with some of the grooviest house tunes of the year with the unique specialty of a different vocalist on every track. This adventure of a video provides the perfect setting for the track as Jennifer Hudson and the production duo groove all night an underground rave. Quite fitting as the tune surely has the potential to become a huge hit in dance clubs everywhere.
A rapper TSIS has been covering for years, Omar LinX (known for his work on countless Zed's Dead tracks) is back with the first single from his biggest solo release to date. Earlier this year, we were teased with new music like "" and "" from his Road to M.O.R. series. Today, we get a taste of LinX's latest studio album M.O.R – Music or Revenge, set to release independently on December 2nd, with the lead single "Dosey Doe". The song features contrasting sample-powered production with a wobbly twist thanks to his partners-in-crime Zeds Dead and go-to producer Pro Logic.
