Russ Liquid - This is Pretty Cool (feat. Beats Antique, Andrew Block and Eric Vogel)

Residing on Gramatik’s Lowtemp label, Russ Liquid has been making waves as a jam influenced producer to keep an eye on as he’s improved his sound with every release. His 17 track Foreign Frequency album infuses elements of jazz and bass music in a new, refreshing sound he’s made his own. Today he’s teamed up with acclaimed live electronica and experimental world fusion trio Beats Antique, as well as fellow New Orleans based bassist Eric Vogel and guitarist Andrew Block. This psychedelic track infuses live instrumentation with electronic production as the slick guitar licks, funky basslines and keyboard work, jazzy hi hats, and the signature crooning trumpet is mixed in with quivering synths and electronica production as it all comes together on this pleasant track appropriately titled “This is Pretty Cool.” Enjoy!

Kygo – Here For You Ft. Ella Henderson (Music Video)

Kygo - Here for You ft. Ella Henderson [Video]

Kygo recently dropped off his latest single which was released as an instrumental simply titled "ID" earlier this year as the Ultra anthem, then Ella Henderson's vocals were added and it was released as his latest single "Here For You" which we can expect is from his anticipated debut album.

Well he's just brought the single to life with an official music video that features Kygo himself as the main star of the video. We see Kygo playing piano in a dark room with a collection of attractive females dancing and partying around him. He seems unimpressed simply focusing on playing out the piano line adding a milked comical flare to the relatively serious video. Enjoy!

Michal Menert And The Pretty Fantastics

One of the electro-soul pioneers, Colorado's own Michal Menert has been working hard expanding his sound over the past year and has formed an entirely new band respectively being called Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics. It features 5 frequent collaborators (Marcelo Moxy, AC Lao, Daniel De Lisle, Will Glazier and Matt van den Heuvel) for a new 6 piece project.

Michal acts as the front man of the group producing all of the tracks and even lending his vocals on some of the tracks. This is a step in a more indie rock direction for Michal, while he still manages to carry over his signature beat driven electro-soul style. He channels various influences from hip-hop to various forms of rock, funk, soul and more for a unique live electronic hybrid that is a perfect extension of the Menert sound we've come to love.

We are excited to premiere the debut full release 1 EP with a full stream and coinciding free download. Listen below and grab a copy. Enjoy!

To all our U.S. readers: You can also see the group as Michal hits the road for a 36 date full length tour, see all te dates below.

KYLE Ft. Chance The Rapper – Remember Me? : Must Hear Hip-Hop

Posted in Bangin, Chill by Jake | Tags: , , , , ,

Chance Kyle remember

Cali based rapper Kyle previously appeared on Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment’s recent album Surf, and is back with a new track alongside Chance The Rapper. This new collaboration “Remember Me” appears on Kyle’s forthcoming album Smyle, due Friday 10/2, and here he gives us a glimpse of what we can expect from the project. Bringing a sultry piano-based instrumental with some dreamy synthesized keyboard and classic boom bap production, Kyle kicks off the track with his rhyming while Chance serenades us on the hook and outro to make for a cool track that has us excited to hear what else Kyle has in store for us. Enjoy

KYLE Ft. Chance The Rapper – Remember Me?

My story has changed quite a lot since moving to Boulder, Colorado and starting Thissongissick back in 2010. My name is Nick Guarino and this is Thissongissick.com. We've grown a lot since, but the original goal has always stayed the same: making it easier for you to discover sick new music that you've never heard before. In high school I would make mix cd's for my friends to show them all the new music I was discovering. Now, through TSIS, we work with musicians and record labels from all over the world to showcase a variety of the freshest electronic, hip-hop, indie, and alternative music to a global following that is comprised of millions of music lovers in over 110 countries - every single month. So, make yourself at home while enjoying countless amazing musicians from a variety of genres and let the sick sounds fill your ears! - Nick
