A-Trak kicks off summer festival season by releasing a brand new song that is full of energy. “Action” is a three way collaboration alongside AraabMuzik and Ape Drums and is a relentless bass fueled trap anthem. From the screeching synths, anthemic horns and beastly drums we are treated to a festival ready weapon. Even better this is a being passed out as a free download. Enjoy.
You can catch all three of these artists as they embark on the Gold Gone Wild tour which is stopping at 6 cities kicking off this Friday June 5th in Boston. See all dates and grab tickets here.

One of dance music's biggest trend setters and head of the influential Fool's Gold Records, mixmaster A-Trak has always been on top of the game. However, recently the CEO has been on an entirely new level, putting out a full length mixtape last month with DC rapper Wale featuring an all star cast including A$AP Ferg, Chance The Rapper, and Pusha T that was released for free to celebrate the holiday 'Festivus'. One of his biggest singles yet is his disco infused electro anthem "Push" drawing some classic inspiration delivered in a very modern way.
The song has been gaining huge momentum, and A-Trak has just brought it to life with an outrageous new music video. Featuring cameos from A-Trak himself, Atlanta producer TM88 of 808 Mafia, a series of Nude models, and even a tiger, it is impossible to be bored through the length of the video.
A-Trak even had a few words on why he chose this direction for the music video. "My approach to dance music has always been a bit left, so the last thing I wanted was one of those sparkler bottle 'lets make this night live forever!' videos". "Instead, I wanted to make something with the opulence of a rap video, but shot like a renaissance painting. It's kind of like Eyes Wide Shut meets Burning Man."

As we approach Christmas day, the gifts do not stop coming in the form of new music from some of our favorite artists.
Today we get something special from established DC rapper Wale and mixmaster and Fool's Gold label head A-Trak as they deliver a brand new full length mixtape appropriately titled 'Festivus'.
The tape, mixed and curated, by A-Trak features Wale rapping on every single track, with a massive list of guest features. They have brought out the likes of A$AP Ferg, Pusha T, Ab-Soul, Chance the Rapper & The Social Experiement and more. (Full track-list below)
While most of the tracks don't carry out a unique holidy aesthetic, they are all solid tracks. Chance the Rapper does however mange to stay in Christmas spirit on his cut "Friendship Heights" on the tape.
This mixtape is released as something fun for the fans as a precursor to Wale's upcoming studio album 'The Album About Nothing' which is set to cover more real topics. Enjoy!

The atmosphere in Chicago this past weekend made for a memorable three days as the entire Thissongissick.com team and our one of a kind interactive tent assembled on the grounds of Soldier Field for the 3rd annual Spring Awakening Music Festival. We provided festival goers the opportunity to attend our biggest Meet and Greet yet as the likes of Feed Me, DJ Snake, 3LAU, A-Trak, Tommy Trash, Paper Diamond, DVBBS, Big Gigantic, and Borgore took time to stop by our tent to take pictures and sign autographs with fans. The experience itself was very humbling as we were able to interact with our readers on a personal level while extending the experieince to them of meeting some of their favorite artistis / DJs. We have uploaded all the photos from the meet & greets to our Facebook Page with links to them all below and you can tag yourself and friends in the post. Big thanks to React, all the tour managers for making the experience possible and Da Black Swan Photography for capturing all the moments and we look forward to being apart of the festival for years to come.
We have also included an album of some of our favorite shots captured of the weekend from some of the most high energy sets we've seen in quite some time. These aren't all the live shots, you can find all of them still getting rolled out through the TSIS Instagram here.

My story has changed quite a lot since moving to Boulder, Colorado and starting Thissongissick back in 2010. My name is Nick Guarino and this is Thissongissick.com. We've grown a lot since, but the original goal has always stayed the same: making it easier for you to discover sick new music that you've never heard before. In high school I would make mix cd's for my friends to show them all the new music I was discovering. Now, through TSIS, we work with musicians and record labels from all over the world to showcase a variety of the freshest electronic, hip-hop, indie, and alternative music to a global following that is comprised of millions of music lovers in over 110 countries - every single month. So, make yourself at home while enjoying countless amazing musicians from a variety of genres and let the sick sounds fill your ears! - Nick
