Chance the Rapper continues to be one of the most exciting new voices in hip-hop while managing to stay completely independent. The lack of a major label has not prevented the flow of music, as we've seen a series of free singles released alongside his band The Social Experiment in the past few months like the Wonder Everyday (Arthur Theme), No Better Blues and I Am Very Very Lonely among others. So it did not come as a huge surprise, when Chance revealed in a recent Billboard article that he has been working on quite a bit of new music – a few albums worth of material – and we can expect the first one by the end of the year.
The first album will be called Surf and highlights The Social Experiment band member Nico Segal aka Donnie Trumpet, a versatile musician and trumpet player of the group. To make things even better this album will be available completely for free and we can expect it before the end of the year, leaving us feeling like the holidays are coming early!
Surf is the first project since Acid Rap that Chance is heavily involved in, and we can only imagine that it will be some of his strongest work to date. Furthermore, the rapper went on to reveal some of the collaborations he has the in works mentioning the likes of Migos, J. Cole, Frank Ocean, Emily Kang and even some guidance from Rick Rubin.
We will keep you posted as more info rolls in on Surf.
Here's his collaboration with James Blake on the "Round Here Remix" that is such a hit
The road to Dillon Francis' debut studio album Money Sucks, Friends Rule has been paved with customary delays, a rigorous tour schedule, and select premieres from the album over the last year. And now, before the album hits stores on October 28th, we have a full stream of the new magnificent release! Leaving no genre untouched and boasting a handful of notable collaborators, Dillon showcases his creative talents on 12 diverse tracks starting off with the electro-bounce party starter "All That" featuring fresh lyrics from legendary Chicago rapper Twista. Each of these progressive house tracks is laden with dance elements and infectious vocals from both singers. After initial listens, you will easily understand why we’ve proclaimed this as one of the biggest releases of 2014 for many months. Job well done Dillon Francis; this album was well worth the wait!

One of the most unique and exciting projects in both electronic and live music will continue to be Gorillaz, represented by the virtual characters: Noodle, 2D, Murdoc Niccals, and Russel Hobbs. The Damon Albarn led project, after releasing 4 studio albums and some very special 9-piece band live performances, went on hiatus in 2012 leaving everyone wanting more. Previous Gorillaz tracks have included collaborations with countless big-name artists ranging from Snoop Dogg, to MF DOOM, to Del The Funky Homosapien, to Lou Reed. The hiatus was at first thought to be a falling out between frontman and singer Damon Albarn and other half of the project, Jamie Hewlitt, who is both the co-creator and animator, but these rumors have been lifted revealing they are on great terms.
Damon Albarn has just revealed official news in a recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, as part of an article on his debut solo album Everyday Robots which is now available. In the piece, he mentions that the Gorillaz project is already in the process of "reactivating" for a potential 2016 album release.
This is huge news that we couldn't be more excited to hear, and hopefully we'll see new tracks roll out sooner then 2016. We've already begun speculating who Damon might be aiming to collaborate with on the new album considering the incredible cast of artists to have emerged in the past few years. What if they brought out someone like Kendrick Lamar or A$AP Rocky or even some singers like The Weeknd? We'll of course keep you posted as more details roll in. For now, enjoy a full stream of their iconic album Demon Days.
3LAU is someone we have been promoting since his early bootleg mashup days, sponsoring his first ever "Dance Floor Filth Volume 1" a couple of years back which jump started his entire career. He has grown far past mashups with some very successful originals on Tiesto's label, Steve Aoki's Dim Mak label, and collaborations with Dash Berlin on top of an internationally charting song "How You Love Me" featuring Bright Lights.
Well 3LAU goes back to his roots once again and delivers us the next chapter in his Dance Floor Filth series with Volume 4. The free bootleg mashup album features 8 huge tunes ready to shut down clubs and festivals across the globe. The songs follow his signature pattern of blending big names like Calvin Harris to Martin Garrix with newer acts like ZHU and Tchami with many including up to 6 tracks, all seamlessly blended giving the listener completely new sounding tracks. I don't think there's anyone that can do bootlegs better than 3LAU, he may have truly perfected the art. Listen below to the free album and for every download a dollar will be donated to Pencils Of Promise to help build a school. Enjoy!
