Baauer Announces Debut Album And Shares New Song “Day Ones” On Steve Colbert

It’s been a longtime coming for influential beat maker Baauer to deliver a complete body of work after rising to international stardom via the commercial, yet controversial success stemming from “Harlem Shake.”

As one of the leading pioneers to grow from the trap genre, the NYC-native has been meticulously crafting and expanding his production prowess while continuing to set the bar for a new generation of producers and fellow colleagues.

With the release of Baaeur’s debut studio album Aa, the producer plans on taking listeners through a worldwide adventure using each track as a single destination along the way. Keeping that mentality in mind, he has put together a lush flow of instrumental heaters and has laid groundwork for the jaw-dropping vocal features from Pusha T, Future, M.I.A, G-Dragon and others.

The album's release has officially crossed over into the mainstream as of last night when Baauer was the featured music guest on Late Night with Stephan Colbert to debut the new single “Day One” with underground hip-hop act Leikeli47. This fully charged banger showcases the proper amount of kicks and bass slaps for Leikeli47 to pounce her vocals all over the foundation. You can view the live performance below.

For a work of this magnitude, Baauer will follow in the footsteps of Hudson Mohawke and Rustie by presenting this project via LuckyMe Records. The release is scheduled for March 16th and we are looking forward to more news to come over the next few months. Enjoy

Chet Faker SOC

Soulful crooner and Melbourne-native Chet Faker has hit us with a pleuthora of releases featuring his unqiue vocal range this past year. From the huge "1998" collaboration with American songstress BANKS, to the release of the Work EP with long-time friend Marcus Marr, Chet continues to impress heading with new right original creations.

With 2015 almost all but wrapped up, Chet delivers one last piece of gold via a rework of brooding WEDIDIT producer Shlohmo. Taking the hauntingly synth and chime laden single "Remains", Chet embeds his vocal talents deep into the foundation of the orignal to create a perfectly fitting addition that holds the composition to new rounds of play.

You can stream the track below and grab  a free download too! Enjoy

What So Not, Baauer & George Maple Collaborate With Tkay Maidza On Must Hear Single “Ghost”

What So Baaur re

Up and coming Australian singer/rapper Tkay Maidza has recruited fellow Australians What So Not and George Maple alongside Baauer on production for her latest tune, and it’s pretty crazy. The combination of talents on the production makes for a unique track you’ll need to hear multiple times.

This new track “Ghost” is a genre-defying tune blending Tkay’s singing and raps atop a fascinating experimental beat with Carmack style production. This track goes in and out of weirdness as the crashing production with frantic percussion and wonky, hitting bass drops in along Tkay’s verses and mellows back out on the hooks. Steam below and enjoy!

Baauer – GoGo! : Boundary Pushing Trap Single

Baaure Go! Go! Re

Looks like the explosive 60 minute mix for Nina Las Vegas x Triple J — which featured some tantalizing unreleased music — was the warning signal for new material coming at any given moment from Brooklyn beatmaker Baauer.

We'll go a step further and say the rumors of a debut album to follow up last years ß EP are more than likely correct and today, we could be hearing the first single from its imminent release.

"GoGo" hits hard; the intricate detail Baauer shows on fine tuning his drums and lead synths is at play throughout this fierce extra versatile instrumental. This may be getting released now, but has been support from friends RL Grime, Hudson Mohawke and Rustie among others all festival season long.

We'll keep you informed of any news on Baauer's music as it becomes available, and take a look to see if he's coming to a venue near you on his select run of dates around the world.
