Bassnectar – Into The Sun | Purchase
Bassnectar recently announced the brand new full length album / mixtape project, Into The Sun, a few weeks ago while releasing five of the tracks that had the internet going nuts. Today we get a track we've been looking to greatly, an unexpected collaboration between rising Philly producer Louis Futon and Zion I. The song takes Bassnectar's signature festival ready style and fuses it with a funky, future sounding trap twist that comes together perfectly. The vocals from Zion I add just the right touch to make the song really stand out. Listen below to an early leak of the track before it comes out on the album tomorrow, enjoy!
UPDATE: The track is now available on iTunes and everywhere else to purchase along with the entire album.
Bassnectar & Louis Futon – Sideways (Ft. Zion I) | Purchase
Bassnectar has just dropped the first 5 tracks from his upcoming “Into The Sun” album, which will be released June 30th via his own music label, Amorphous. In an interview with Rolling Stone Lorin explains "I think of this as a mixtape…like a mixtape you'd make for a lover or friend before they leave on a road trip or something.” The laid back categorization of the album gives the producer much more freedom. As Lorin says he can “under promise and over deliver” and focus on giving the album an “element of sonic euphoria."
In the release Nectar drops off a remix of The Naked and Famous "No Way", where he beefs up song with loads of bass conveying the signature Bassnectar flare. He also gives us a remix of his longtime friend Dorfex Bos self-titled single which is an ode to Lorin’s roots. Lorin also lets us hear three upcoming original songs, the title track “Into The Sun”, “Speakerbox” featuring Lafa Taylor, and a collaboration with Santa Cruz producer G Jones on "The Mystery Spot" which is a shout out to San Francisco
Lorin also confirms with Rolling Stone the collaboration between himself and rock legend Tom Morello will be released following “Into The Sun”. There will also be a free mixtape alteration to coincide with “Into The Sun’s” release.

From his extra heavy music choice, to his energy filled sets and metal like hair and headbanging, Bassnectar is without a doubt the metalhead rock figure within the electronic world. This makes this newest bit of news all the more fitting as Bassnectar just shared a photo of himself with Tom Morello of iconic rock metal band Rage Against The Machine in the studio with the caption:
"In the studio with Tom Morello, raging against machines!!!"
He has played various bass infused metal bootlegs over the years, even including a remix of Rage's "Killing In The Name Of" in his live sets, so this is quite a natural collaboration. As we sit and patiently wait for whatever magic the two have cooked up you can get an idea of what it might sound like by listening to Bassnectar's remix of "Seek & Destroy" by Metallica below.
Last year, The Glitch Mob released their long awaited album Love, Death and Immortality after a long hiatus from the project. Today we have a brand new remix of one of the lesser known tracks from the album "Beauty of the Unhidden Heart" from the lord of all things bass, Bassnectar. He has reimagined the song as an all out melodic dubstep masterpiece. With huge bass drops and a beefed up melody, it's nearly impossible to not get chills while listening. Listen to the full song below and you can pick up the whole remix album on iTunes. Enjoy

Electric Forest 2015 Lineup Impresses Everyone With Bassnectar, Skrillex, Flume, Big Gigantic & Much MorePosted in Bangin, Chill, Events, News by nick | Tags: Bassnectar, Big Gigantic, Electric Forest, Flume, Lineup, Skrillex
It's no surprise that here at TSIS, one of our favorite music festivals in the world is the unique 4 day festival Electric Forest which manages to live up to the name with the festival taking place in the middle of a forest. Every year the festival manages to bring an impressive variety of both electronic and live acts, and for 2015 the lineup is no different.
Headliners this year include Bassnectar, Skrillex, Flume, Kaskade, Big Gigantic and of course The String Cheese Incident.
Other top acts include Carl Cox, Claude Von Stroke, Break Science, Datsik, Flux Pavilion, G-Eazy, Gramatik, Green Velvet, Lettuce, John Digweed, Carnage, Lotus, ODESZA, Paul Oakenfold, Phantogram, Sphongle, Tchami, The Motet and Yonder Mountain String Band.
All early bird tickets and VIP packages have sold out, but you can still grab some of the remaining tickets while they last. If there is one festival you attend this summer, this should be it. Buy tickets here
When experimental low-end aficionado Bassnectar throws his production weight into a remix, the outcome can spark a wave of activity in and outside of dance music’s maturing community. The talented visionary has an unique knack for drawing connections to past genre’s while breaking ground across the bass spectrum, and this remix is no exception. Bassnectar casts an inventive spell over Dubstep pioneer Joker's track "Midnight" by placing dreamy guitar riffs, frenzied kick and snare elements, and deep scoops of melodic bass into the original.
This saw a release in Europe a few months ago along with a Rustie remix but we are happy see it finally be released in the US. You can now pick up on iTunes and stream the full song below. Enjoy!

The 2015 edition of the festival will take place over the weekend of June 11th – 14th in it’s iconic location of the fields in Manchester, Tennessee.
Today, the producers unleashed the lineup for this year’s festival, and damn it lives up to the hype. Bassnectar just unleashed a star studded album of remixes from his recent release Noise vs. Beauty. Today we have one of it's hottest tracks from a TSIS favorite, Minnesota. He takes on "Open Up" and gives it a surprisingly smooth liquid drum-n-bass twist. The vocals sound perfect laid next to a drum-n-bass powered melody. The new spin on this track really shows the versatility of Minnesota as a producer. Listen below to the song and pick up your copy of the new Noise vs Beauty remix album that is available now. Enjoy!
Minnesota is currently in the middle of his biggest North American headlining tour to date. The Mind Machine tour features support from Jackal and G. Jones and TSIS has got your tickets! We are giving away a pair of tickets to every remaining date of the tour, all you have to do to enter is "SHARE" this post and then COMMENT BELOW WITH YOUR CITY.
Bassnectar – Open Up (Minnesota REMIX) | Purchase
Bassnectar has been known to do things a little different, one area that specifically sets him apart is how in tune he is with his massive fan base. Where some producers are far-away unreachable figures, the latest song from Bassnectar was actually born from a fan literally reaching out to the producer's e-mail and sending him tracks.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Bassnectar told about how "a lot of fans send me music, either tipping me off to songs they want me to remix, asking for production tips or to see if I want to collaborate."
Craz, an aspiring producer out of New York, sent something that hit the massive producer in just the right way. "I could hear a lot of ways that his ideas could be more explosive and complete and asked if he wanted to team up on that song."
The result is a track that goes back to the older roots of Bassnectar, surly to make many long time bassheads happy as it is full of reggae-styled vocals, powerful synths and of course loads of bass. The track, "Thursty" has been released as the only orignal on the brand new Noise vs Beauty remixes album available now. You can also catch Bassnectar as he continues on his North American tour that has followed a sold out stop at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York earlier this month.
