Thissongissick.com Presents GRiZ at The Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO 12/1/12 | Tickets On Sale + MusicPosted in Bangin, Events by nick | Tags: boulder, Concert, Griz, The Fox Theatre
Have you been keeping your tabs on GRiZ? He’s one of the newer faces in the electronic scene, who’s been making waves since his recently self-released his Mad Liberation album for free about a month ago. We’ve been featuring him on the site since his epic Aerosmith – Dream On Remix well over a year ago. We’ve been following him, and even got to know the amazing guy, and then when I heard Mad Liberation for the first time all the way through, I was blown away. It sparked emotions I hadn’t felt since listening to Pretty Lights for the first time. Such a unique complex potpourri of electronic sounds that all came together perfect in away I had never heard before.
Well I’m pleased to announce that we are helping present GRiZ in concert at one of our favorite venues The Fox Theatre here in Boulder, Colorado on Saturday, December 1st. It’s the same intimate 650 person venue that we brought Skrillex for his first headlining Colorado visit back in 2010, and that same venue that’s been home to Deadmau5, Rusko, Zedd, Feed Me, Porter Robinson, STS9, and the list goes on and on. There is something about the raw energy of the intimate vibe of this amazing venue mixed with it’s very healthy history that makes it a sort of initiation show to play in the Colorado music scene.
We are working with GRiZ to make this one of the best shows that’s ever hit The Fox Theatre, and we can assure you it will be a show to remember. The response that we’ve received so far has been incredible, with the show’s event page on The Fox Theatre’s website has already gotten shared over 700 times.. and since there’s only around 600 tickets, they will be gone fast, and we would really hate for anyone to miss out, so this is your last warning.
Tickets go on sale at 12pm MST today Friday October 5th. Tickets are on sale now! Tickets are SOLD-OUT! And for $15. They will be available online here, and at Albums on The Hill in Boulder right across the street from The Fox Theatre. By how many people have showed response, tickets won’t be available for more then a few hours. We’ll have a contest for the stragglers, but we can’t stress it enough, if you like GRiZ, you don’t want to miss this show!
UPDATE: The show sold-out in less than 6 hours!! You guys are nuts, hope everyone got tickets!!

CU Presents a Free 4/20 Concert in Boulder with Wyclef Jean, Cris Cab, and more Replacing the Annual SmokeoutPosted in Chill, Events, Video by nick | Tags: 420, boulder, Cris Cab, CU, Smo, Wyclef Jean
Video of past year’s 4/20 Smokeout at CU’s Campus video
Alright so most of you are probably aware of annual weed smokeout that takes place on CU’s (University of Colorado) campus on April 20th (4/20) at 4:20pm. There’s speculations of over 15,000 people all gathering to smoke weed. This started as a marijuana protest and after years and years it has become more of a giant party. I’ve been the past few years, and it’s always been quite an experience. Check out the video above to get an idea. The event has gotten way too big and the school doesn’t like that so they are going to extra measures this year to ensure that this won’t happen. They are not allowing any guests on campus on April 20th (4/20), and have cops checking ID’s of everybody getting on campus. To give the students something to do, they will be offering a free concert at Coors Event Center on campus. Read more below!
The concert will feature Wyclef Jean, Cris Cab, and locals TTF and Sun Squabi. If the smokeout is really cancelled, this seems like the best alternative, but it is for students only and they will be checking ID’s at the door. Good news is since they have so much security guarding the field, looks like the concert should be smoke safe.. That would probably be national news, “University of Colorado turns smokeout to school ran concert smokeout”. Just kidding CU, don’t worry, this is a great idea! If you are a student you don’t want to miss this, and if you aren’t then get ready for Levitate Festival featuring Rusko, Dj Shadow, Paper Diamond, Pictureplane. Check out a track from Wyclef Jean and Cris Cab, two of the artists playing below as well. Enjoy!

Lazerdisk Party Sex – Tigerblood : Sick Electronic Remix Sampling iPhone Ringtone and Charlie Sheen + Boulder ShowPosted in Bangin, Events by nick | Tags: boulder, Charlie Sheen, Colorado, Dubstep, Electro, events, iphone sample, Lazerdisk Party Sex, Remix, Tigerblood
Alright so today I’ve got a hysterical, yet suprisngly yet sick track from the duo Lazerdisk Party Sex. Their the talented Burlington, VT based duo that brought you one of my favorites remix I’ve posted in months, the Afrojack – Selecta (Lazerdisk Party Sex remix). Well this track is far more chill, starting with a sample that everyone knows, and most likely is sick of. It’s the iPhone ringtone, turned into an electronic remix having some electro and dubstep elements. It even has some Charlie Sheen samples really kicking the track up a notch. It’s sick to see what producers can make a song out of. Check it out, turn it up, enjoy!

ATTENTION COLORADO FANS: We have teamed up with Boulder Beats to bring out Lazerdisk Party Sex to play a show in Boulder, Colorado this Wednesday October 5th, 2011. We’ve brought out a ton of really sick names like Skrillex, Zedd, Porter Robinson, and a ton more. This show is at the Absinthe House Club, a really sick new club in boulder with a massive sound system. We’re bringing out a ton of extra lights to make the night pop off. We’ve got boulder locals CLP opening up the night. Early bird tickets are already soldout, get your general presales here it’s only $10/$12. Get your tickets before their gone!
Today I’m really excited to bring you a video recap of an very rowdy Thissongissick concert that happened earlier this month. We brought out the beast of a producer and DJ, Feed Me, all the way from the UK. Let’s just say the night was action packed, filled to the brim with bass, and epic. Feed Me did a great job of playing all of his tracks that you wanted to hear. The concert was at one of my favorite venues, The Fox Theatre here in Boulder, Colorado. Sit back and get a glimpse of how much energy can fit into an electronic show. This video was done by Cinesthetics, the video company based out of Boulder who made the Avicii edit, Big Gigantic edit, RPM edit, etc. This video features ‘Pink Lady’, a track off Feed Me’s To The Stars ep which can be purchased through Beatport here. Turn up the bass, sit back, enjoy!

So as most of you know I attend the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and every year on 4-20 (April 20th) Thousands gather, some say as high as 15,000 and smoke weed on the campus of CU. Well me and a friend took some pictures and video and put it together to the tune of I Hate College by Sam Adams. Click Below and enjoy this nicely crafted video by yours truly. Enjoy!
Savoy is a truly unique band performing a DJ set and a live set, when doing the DJ set the main two put on one of the sickest DJ sets Colorado has got to offer, when they perform a Live set the three members perform their music with drums synth and more in a live electronic rock show that is monumental and they’re from Boulder, Colorado. First up is one of my favorite songs of theirs Automatic from their debut full length Automatic, wait till about 1:15 and turn up the speakers as this song is such a banger. After listening to this one through you can truly see why they have been gaining the attention they have in the past year.
Savoy – Automatic
Secondly is a extra bonus song from their older album that i’ll be featuring later this week cause they are playing a show on friday at the Boulder Theatre. Wait till about 20 seconds in for the HUUGE bass.
BONUS Savoy – Get Some Action (Live Version)
Next up is a song off of their brand new 3 song February EP . This first one is called Rich and Famous and it is incredibly sick, reminds me of Automatic to be honest, and it also picks up around 1:15 and then truly bangs so turn up the speakers and bass.
Savoy – Rich and Famous
Next is Savoy’s pretty sick remix of David Guetta’s “It’s The Way You Love Me”, it’s starts off a little slow but give it some time. Wait till about 1:30 for a sick bass drop. Not much else to say about this track, enjoy!
David Guetta/Savoy – It’s The Way You Love Me (Savoy RMX)
My story has changed quite a lot since moving to Boulder, Colorado and starting Thissongissick back in 2010. My name is Nick Guarino and this is Thissongissick.com. We have grown a lot since, but the original goal has stayed the same, making it easier for you to discover sick new music you have never heard before. In high school I would make mix cd's for my friends to show them all the new music I was discovering. Now through Thissongissick, we work with musicians and record labels from all over the world to showcase a variety of freshest electronic, hip-hop, indie, and other fresh genres to a worldwide following that now reaches millions of music lovers over 110+ countries, every single month. Make yourself at home, enjoy countless amazing musicians from a variety of genres and let the sick sounds fill your ears. Enjoy!
We work with the artists to spread their music. Most of the artists choose to give away their music for free to spread it to as many ears as possible. Please support the artists by purchasing tickets to see them live in concert and what music they do have for sale!
