“If you want to make amazing music, get together with a friend and start your own little scene that can become a community…”
What seemed like an unorthodox pairing from the start has turned into a worldwide music phenomenon as the partnership of Skrillex and Boys Noize as Dog Blood created a whirlwind of attention this year. Both pioneers in their respective genres, the collaborative efforts and unique on stage chemistry of Sonny and Alex have rocked the very foundation of the electronic music community. The two were caught on film working on the new Middle Finger Pt 2 EP and shared what Dog Blood means to them along with some wise words for all you up and coming producers / DJs out there. Enjoy

Words from Boys Noize himself:
“I made one Acid/Hardcore/Rave/Break track called ”Excuse Me” ,
one very analogue Techno track ”Inhale / Exhale”, with no melody and no bass line just really intense Robot voices,
one 909 Acid/Disco-House track with summer vibes,
one Acid (T)Rap track that goes Hard !! (yes no one has brought the Acid sound into Rap/HipHop yet hehe)
plus another sick Rave beat on ”Push Em Up”.”

POTATO the new YouTube channel from Diplo, Skrillex and A-Trak has launched with it’s first show Bang! The first episode features Skrillex, Boys Noize and Kevin Saunderson highlighting the Birthplace of Electronic Dance Music and Techno and the city it took place in, Detroit, Michigan. There are interviews with Kevin Saunderson talking about his trio who are regearded as one of the originators of Techno, the Bellview Three (Alongside Derrick May and Juan Atkings). There are also interviews with Skrillex (Sonny Moore) and Boys Noize (Alexander Ridha) and scenes from their New Years Show of the same name The Bang that took place in Detroit at Palace of Auburn Hills.
It is extremely awesome to see someone like Skrillex who has such a large diverse fanbase both young and old and also rookie and veterans in the scene wanting to educate everyone about the origins of the birth of dance music and techno. I guess you could say he “Put His Hands Up For Detroit” What do you think? Comment below.

My story has changed quite a lot since moving to Boulder, Colorado and starting Thissongissick back in 2010. My name is Nick Guarino and this is Thissongissick.com. We have grown a lot since, but the original goal has stayed the same, making it easier for you to discover sick new music you have never heard before. In high school I would make mix cd's for my friends to show them all the new music I was discovering. Now through Thissongissick, we work with musicians and record labels from all over the world to showcase a variety of freshest electronic, hip-hop, indie, and other fresh genres to a worldwide following that now reaches millions of music lovers over 110+ countries, every single month. Make yourself at home, enjoy countless amazing musicians from a variety of genres and let the sick sounds fill your ears. Enjoy!
We work with the artists to spread their music. Most of the artists choose to give away their music for free to spread it to as many ears as possible. Please support the artists by purchasing tickets to see them live in concert and what music they do have for sale!
