The French production artists Daft Punk have announced a very special release just in time for the holiday season. The godfathers of electronic music are giving us their hyped 'Alive 2007' album as a much needed double-vinyl package with a 52-page book. Dropping on December 22nd, the album was recorded in Paris as part of the duo's 2006/2007 tour – Alive - their return to the stage after a 10 year live hiatus, which also debuted their game changing pyramid stage set up. It is a pivotal live mix, whether you were at the shows or hearing of this for the very first time, and experiencing this two hour musical journey via the full and warm sounds of vinyl is a must.
Let it be known that the album has won two grammys including 'Best Electronic Album' and 'Best Electronic Single'. Also coinciding with Alive 2007, the group will simultaneously re-release 'Live 1997' also on wax. We can't wait to hear the album and check out what's inside the 52-page 'Alive 2007' book.
'Alive 2007' tracklist:
'Television Rules The Nation'
'Around The World'
'Harder Better Faster Stronger'
'Face To Face'
'One More Time'
'Forget About The World'
'Prime Time Of Your Life'
'Rollin’ And Scratchin''
'Human After All'
Daft Punk are responsible for some of the most notable dance anthems ever created; this undeniable fact has historically seen few producers step up to the challenge of remixing or bootleging any of their tracks. Earlier this year, we saw Dillon Francis step up to the plate and flip an official remix to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger", turning it into a bass heavy trap banger that tore up festivals all summer.
Today we have an exciting new bootleg from producer duo Black Boots. Delivering an impressive remix of the Daft Punk classic "One More Time" we speculate that it could even be deemed official. There is definitely some strong Flume influence in this future bass rendition of the track; highlighting the original vocals and melody while managing to turn it into a completely new track. Listen below and grab a free download. Enjoy!

Last week we first previewed an exciting clip of the official music video for “Gust Of Wind”, a second collaboration between Pharrell and Daft Punk after their massive "Get Lucky" release. You now can watch the full cinematic journey in all its glory directed by Edgar Write, responsible for flicks like "Shaun of the Dead" and the upcoming Ant-Man among others.
The video sees Pharrell in some far off forest with his ranger hat and all moving around as dancers fly in every which direction. We then see Daft Punk represented by giant stone molds of their helmets lift up from the ground and float around while singing their chorus. The video is very well done, and leaves the viewer craving to see more Daft Punk by the end of it, which closes out with a climatic appearance of an outline of the famed robots in the sky at the very end. Watch below and you can pick up your copy on iTunes. Enjoy!
After Pharrell collaborated with the French duo Daft Punk on two songs (Get Lucky & Loose Yourself To Dance) from their grammy winning album, he brought the guys out to collaborate on a song for his own album that saw incredible success. The song "Gust Of Wind" exploded when it hit the internet earlier this year, and now Pharrell has brought the amazing track to life.
He has enlisted director Edgar Wright responsible for movies like "Shaun Of The Dead" and "Scott Pilgrim Versus The World" to direct the film.
Today we get to see the first preview teaser of the music video with Pharrell in his now signature ranger hat, fitting for him walking through some forest surroundings. We then see some oversized rock sculptures of the Daft Punk helmets and the video leaves us on the edge of our seat driving us wild until we can see the rest. With Edgar Wright responsible for directing this, we can expect an eerie, movie quality sci-fi journey with Pharrell and the Daft Punk robots brought to life like never before.. at least we can hope.
What do you think the video will contain? Watch and comment below:
