RUN DMT – Bass Drum (Official Release) : New Dubstep / Bass Music (For Fans of Bassnectar)

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

Today I’m excited to give you an exclusive new track from a talented electronic music duo from Austin, Texas. These bass music producers have been carving their own path for the past few years. Well today I’ve got an exclusive christmas present from the group. The track is called ‘Bass Drum’, and it starts off with a cool mixture of drums and a catchy sample. It builds up, then hits you with a crunchy yet smooth bass drop. They really remind me of the Bassnectar sound, in a great way. Turn this track up, enjoy!

Mission Impossible Theme (Tiesto Remix) : Sick New House Anthem

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , ,

Today I’ve got an amazing new remix bringing life to a classic theme song a lot of you might be familiar with. It’s the theme for Mission Impossible, and in spirit of the new movie coming out. Tiesto completely reworked the track into a high energy house anthem. It’s a real great blend of the original theme, but made very modern. Turn this up, enjoy!

Drop Goblin – Make Yur Head Bounce : Must Hear Funky Heavy Moombahton / Dubstep With A Classic Sample

Posted in Bangin by sage | Tags: , , , , , ,

Every now and then after I’ve been trawling the internet for hours I just stumble upon a great song. This is exactly what happened when I stumbled across this little gem from Drop Goblin a producer from New Hampshire a state that’s more well known for it’s beaches than electronic music. The song starts off sounding more like a remix sampling Let Me Clear My Throat by Dj Kool, but then drops into a great funky Moombahton beat. I would love too hear more electronic music like this and it kind of reminds me of Opiuo. Turn it up and enjoy this funky track!

Steve Aoki ft. Kid Cudi & Travis Barker – Cudi The Kid : Sick New Electronic Collaboration

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , ,

You may have heard that Steve Aoki is finally releasing his debut album after years of being a DJ and producer. It’s called Wonderland and coming out January 17th, and today we get a sample off it with a new collab with Kid Cudi drummer Travis Barker. On top of the all star cast,  this track really sounds unique and nothing like I’ve ever heard, which is my favorite thing to listen to. It’s a mixture of more chiller softer track, then with some heavier drops, but not anywhere close to as energetic as the typical Aoki BANGER. Cudi does more singing then true rapping on the track, but it works well, especially if your a fan of his. Travis Barker’s drums add a subtle cool organic feel to the track. Turn it up, enjoy!

Knife Party – 100 % No Modern Talking : Absolute Must Hear Heavy Electro / Dubstep EP

Posted in Bangin, Mixtapes / Albums by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got one of the absolute best free releases and I’ve ever posted on TSIS. It’s the latest EP from UK based Knife Party. Now someone sent me this EP a few days ago, but I didn’t want to leak it until Knife Party wanted it released, today…. I mean they’re giving it away for free, so we wanted to respect their release schedule, and not give it out early. For those unfamiliar, Knife Party is the new project from members of Pendulum. This new project, Knife Party sounds exactly like the name says, a knife party. It’s very intense high energy noises, but throw together in the best way possible. This 4 song ep includes a filthy dubstep track, and some electro house anthems. Knife Party has been building up it’s name throughout the past year, and it’s so sick to finally have an official release from them. This is by far one of the free releases I’ve been able to post in awhile. It reminds me of Skrillex, but even more heavy. Turn the bass and speakers all the way up, let Knife Party work its magic.. enjoy!

Avicii – Levels (Skrillex Remix) : Must Hear Epic Remix

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , ,

Well once word of this remix first surfaced last week here, this track was on everyone’s wishlist. We’ve heard a handful of remixes of Avicii’s house anthem ‘Levels’, like . Well today we get possibly the sickest version of the already massive track. Done by none other than Skrillex. The song has a slower feel to it, but the bass comes in crashing so full and heavy your not going to be able to sit still. Definitely one of the best tracks I’ve heard in awhile. Turn your new favorite remix up, enjoy!

Zeds Dead – Mini Mix on BBC Radio 1 : 20 Minute Crunchy Dubstep / Electro Mix

Posted in Bangin, Mix / Playlist by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a real sick mini mix from the beast Zeds Dead. We unveiled an epic video edit (debuting 2 unreleased Zeds tracks) of there 2 night run in Denver. Well today I’ve got their mini mix they did on BBC Radio 1′s Rob da Bank show last week. This 20 minute mix starts out hitting hard with their latest anthem Ruckus the Jam, then moves into more of their jungle and drum and bass stuff. It lets the anticipationg build up on the chill side for awhile, then the bass comes crashing back in with some insane amounts of wobbling bass including their tack ‘Undah Your Skirt’ which is so massive. It’s a great blend of some of their latest tracks and a few of their favorites. As Rob the host says ‘An electronic pair of Whippersnappers from Toronto’. Turn up the bass, enjoy!

Manufactured Superstars – Take Me Over feat. Scarlett Quinn (J Flash & Tyler Blue Dubstep Mix) : Super Heavy Dubstep Remix for House Song

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a sick massive dubstep remix from J Flash, the Colorado based producer who made the sick hosue track ‘That’ll Work’ and the more recent mashup. Well today he ventures into the dubstep world, and in a heavy way. He takes the more calm and dance friendly ‘Take Me Over’ by Manufactured Superstars, and turns it into a very filthy dubstep BANGER. Once it drops, the bass gets turned all way up. This might be a little heavy for some of you, but I think the contrast between the softer buildup and the drops works pretty well. This track is actually for sale through Magik Muzik, Tiesto’s label through Beatport Here. But also J Flash was kind enough to give us the exclusive download. Turn it up, enjoy!

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick. Enjoy!
