Basic Physics – Lift Off : Full Length Electro / Party / Dubstep Mashup Album

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Now the concept of a mashup is taking the vocals from one track and the instrumental or beat from another and arranging it so it sounds like a new track. Now we get our fair share of not so great mashups in our submissions, so it’s very refreshing hearing some polished club ready mashups. This lastest album Lift Off from Wisconsin based Basic Physics combines a variety of electro, dubstep, and big progressive house tracks blended with some popular vocals. It reminds me of 3LAU’s Dance Floor Filth, with mainstream theme and the how well done it is. I’ve included a few of my favorite tracks, but if you dig the sound, you’ll love the whole thing. Turn it up, enjoy!

Skrillex – My Good Bye : New Electro House Dance Track from Grammy Winner

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , ,

Skrillex just dropped this new freebie after having a monumental night in the media. He took home 3 out of the 5 grammies he was nominated. He took home Best Dance Album for Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, Best Dance Recording for the single Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical for ‘Benny Benassi – Cinema (Skrillex Remix)’. All 3 of these awards on their own would have been an accomplishment, but he took 3, really lifting the bar on what electronic music can accomplish. This is really mind blowing to see happen. I’m in the process on writing a feature on how much electronic music has changed in the past 2 years. For now here is a sick new track from Skrillex, going off his bass filled path. It’s a more dance based, synth filled, very happy track, complete wit Sonny’s own vocals. Turn it up, enjoy!

Foo Fighters – Rope (Deadmau5 Remix) : Sick Electronic Rock Remix + Grammy Performance

Posted in Bangin, Events by nick | Tags: , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a track of an official remix from Deadmau5 of Foo Fighters. This mix got released a little while ago, but I thought it was fitting since Deadmau5 and the Foo Fighters are going to be performing this track live tonight at the 54th annual Grammys. It seems like it leans a little bit more on the rock side with some Deadmau5 flavor added. Make sure and watch the Grammy’s to see Deadmau5 DJ on national television. Also good luck to Deadmau5, Skrillex, A-Trak, and Swedish House Mafia as they compete to win a variety of Grammy’s.UPDATE SPOILER: Skrillex Won Best new Album and Best Song for Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, and Best Remix for Benny Benassi – Cinema (Skrillex Remix)!! Congrats Skrillex! Your’e taking electronic music to new levels in America! It’s pretty wild seeing electronic music really get this huge of respect from the Grammy’s, and the American mainstream essentially. I knew electronic music has been gaining power, and tonight is a definite turning point. Turn it up, enjoy!

XV ft. Wiz Khalifa – Gobstopper (Figure Remix) : Filthy Dubstep / Hip Hop Remix

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Hip hop and dubstep are two genres that work incredibly well together, and today I’ve got a track that surfaced a few weeks ago that blends both the genres very well. It’s a sick track from XV ft. Wiz Khalifa, remixed by Figure, the guy who made the epic Beatlejuice dubstep remix. This song blends the original vocals with his grimey bass for a great remix. Turn it up, enjoy!

Silver Medallion & Feature Cuts – Drop Out, Kiss Girls : Filthy Electro House / Groove Single

Posted in Bangin, Chill by nick | Tags: , , , , , , ,

Today I’ve got a track that’s got a real unique sound. It’s from New York based Silver Medallion, who we’ve previously featured with his single “All I Ask”. He’s got a voice that reminds me of an 80′s singer, in the best way possible. This electronic powered track starts off pretty chill, then continues to buildup, and finally drop the bass at 1:40. Feature Cuts was recruited for the production of it, and really killed it. It’s a groove filled song, with clashing bass giving it some contrast. Turn it up, enjoy!

Natalia Kills – Mirrors (Omega Remix) : Must Hear Crunchy Dubstep Remix

Posted in Bangin by shorne | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

When I realized that it’s been over a year since we last posted these two sick remixes of The Beatles and Tiesto from Omega, I had to share this remix of the beautiful and talented Natalia Kills. Omega perfectly captures how I would have imagined her voice to be used. And on top of that, I haven’t been able to get enough of the absolutely crucnhy synth that he drops into. Savor this sick track and turn it up!

Starkillers & Alex Kenji vs. Diplo & Oliver Twizt – Go Pressure (Alesso vs. Peacetreaty Remix)(Peacetreaty Mash-up): New Massive House Mash-up

Posted in Bangin by shorne | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Don’t let the mouthful of a name turn you away from this huge big room house Mash-up. We originally shared with you Peacetreaty’s remix of Go, but now they have combined their song powers with Alesso’s remix of Pressure to create this joint venture of energetic big room house. The combination of the two intros lead to a very catchy result that has you craving for the drop. And when it arrives you won’t be disappointed. Enjoy.

When I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder I got exposed to some of the sickest music around. My name is Nick Guarino and I love music and especially showing people new music. Making mix cd's for friends my whole life led to the founding of Thissongissick.com with which I hope to broaden everyone's musical taste beyond the radio. There is a large amount of freely distributed music that far too little people know about. This site showcases and debuts some of best up and coming as well as already established artists, rappers, DJ's, producers and more. Through the process TSIS has found it self focusing on exposing the electronic and hip hop music scenes. Check out some music you've never heard, I'm sure you'll find some songs that are pretty sick. Enjoy!
