One of the most unique and exciting projects in both electronic and live music will continue to be Gorillaz, represented by the virtual characters: Noodle, 2D, Murdoc Niccals, and Russel Hobbs. The Damon Albarn led project, after releasing 4 studio albums and some very special 9-piece band live performances, went on hiatus in 2012 leaving everyone wanting more. Previous Gorillaz tracks have included collaborations with countless big-name artists ranging from Snoop Dogg, to MF DOOM, to Del The Funky Homosapien, to Lou Reed. The hiatus was at first thought to be a falling out between frontman and singer Damon Albarn and other half of the project, Jamie Hewlitt, who is both the co-creator and animator, but these rumors have been lifted revealing they are on great terms.
Damon Albarn has just revealed official news in a recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, as part of an article on his debut solo album Everyday Robots which is now available. In the piece, he mentions that the Gorillaz project is already in the process of "reactivating" for a potential 2016 album release.
This is huge news that we couldn't be more excited to hear, and hopefully we'll see new tracks roll out sooner then 2016. We've already begun speculating who Damon might be aiming to collaborate with on the new album considering the incredible cast of artists to have emerged in the past few years. What if they brought out someone like Kendrick Lamar or A$AP Rocky or even some singers like The Weeknd? We'll of course keep you posted as more details roll in. For now, enjoy a full stream of their iconic album Demon Days.
One of Flume's good friends in Australia is the duo Hermitude who you may remember from the popular remix of their song Hyperparadie by Flume himself, and the recent massive GANZ flip of that song. The exciting duo just moments ago released a brand new original titled "Ukiyo" with the simple caption "a little taste of new Hermitude", and if this is only a taste, I can not wait for more. It definitely has some Flume influence, yet packing their own signature twist. The vocals get sampled and distorted into an instrument of sorts and really help make the track. Stream for now and hopefully we will get more info.
Hermitude is going on a UK + Germany tour, see dates below the player. Enjoy!

In the words form the girls who made the track Jessie and Fei Fei:
YOU is literally what you get when you put 2 girls in the studio together, being weird and messing around. We were listening to a bunch of old tunes and just started messing around with some samples and the song is just that and some really pretty synths. It’s a mix of all of our indie-disco–trap-electronica influences all rolled up into one hot mess! “

Salva just put out his latest release, a 5 song Odd Furniture EP through Friends of Friends. It consists of a versatile group of 808 fueled tracks with Trap, Baltimore Club, Juke, Miami Bass and Hip-Hop influences. His knowledge and skill as a producer shines through immesnely as he makes fresh trap inspired tracks that contain some actual substance. “Hard Drive” is one of my favorite tracks dabbling a little with Juke, yet spun his own way. The EP features the previously featured bass thumping “Drop That B”. The EP ends with “BBQ”, an extra eerie late night banger. Find some proper speakers and give this a listen, and support Salva by purchasing this through his Bandcamp. Enjoy!
