Salva – Odd Furniture EP : Trap / Hip-Hop EP

Salva just put out his latest release, a 5 song Odd Furniture EP through Friends of Friends. It consists of a versatile group of 808 fueled tracks with Trap,  Baltimore Club, Juke, Miami Bass and Hip-Hop influences. His knowledge and skill as a producer shines through immesnely as he makes fresh trap inspired tracks that contain some actual substance. “Hard Drive” is one of my favorite tracks dabbling a little with Juke, yet spun his own way. The EP features the previously featured bass thumping “Drop That B”. The EP ends with “BBQ”, an extra eerie late night banger. Flux Pavilion – Blow the Roof EP : Review + Minimix + LIVE STREAM

Bass icon Flux Pavillion who has helped establish dubstep released his latest Blow the Roof EP which dares to go outside of his dubstep box. He brings electro house and breaks into the picture, with his own massive twist. This release further estblishes how forward thinking and versatile he is as an artist. Although he let out a good chunk of the release, hearing it all together really gives you the complete story he is trying to tell. We already got to sample The full version of  “Do or Die” with Childish Gambino really blew me away and instantly became one of the my favorite from both Flux Pavilion and Childish Gambino . “Double Edge (ft. Sway & P Money)” is Flux’s spin on the breaks style which he proceeds to do a damn good job of it. He brings back “I Can’t Stop”, which was one of his most iconic track for a brand new “I Still Can’t Stop”. It recharges the classic bass hit with the perfect crunchy yet sublte rebirth. Every single track on here is truly remarkable, all working together to form a cohesive project that is easily the most impressive piece of work to date for someone who continues to pave the path for bass music worldwide. Zeds Dead – Hot Sauce EP Minimix [Mad Decent]

Zeds Dead won’t stop making innovative electronic music that all manages to rattle your speakers and body a different way with every track. The Canadian duo featuring DC and Hooks are going to be releasing their Hot Sauce EP through Diplo’s Mad Decent record label on January 29th and let loose a fierce Minix sampling all 5 tracks. This follows up last year’s free Mad Decent mixtape release Victor ft. Omar Linx. Their new Hot Sauce EP features 5 intrumentals that all push the boundaries of who they are as artists.

As Mad Decent desribed the tracks: “From the opener, “Demons”, a nightmare inducing track with heavy, pulsating synths as well as keys and strings plucked straight from classic horror films to “Mr. Sub”, which displays a more minimalist approach from the duo with a bouncing bass and touches of space-disco synths and “Rave” a breakbeat monster that hits so fast they put in an audible breaths to remind listeners to take one themselves.”

Minnesota – Altered States EP : 5 Song Melodic Soulful Dubstep / Trap EP [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Everything that I hear produced by Minnesota packs so much soul and melodic vibes, and today we get Altered States, a 5 song EP spanning from dubstep to trap / hip-hop to even some glitch hop. We first heard “To the Floor” and which contained various elements some familiar and some foreign and delivered them in a very unique way. He even stepped outside the box and collaborated with Zion-I for a new version of “Float”, which seems like a natural fit with their hip-hop / electronic chemistry. Rusko is a musician who has been releasing on labels for years, but at the same time has been a strong advocate of giving away his music for free. He recently announced after label complications that would be giving all of his music in the future. This is starting with newest KAPOW EP. It’s a 4 song EP featuring some of his tradiatonal dubstep sounds yet delivered in a fresh way on “Yeah”, “Bring It Back”, and  “BOOKASHA” It also includes the glitch-hop track “Like This”. He defintely broke the genre boundries on this, all while maintaining his signature HUGE Rusko sound. He’s the kind of artists that while it does sound good on laptop speakers, you should find some proper headphones or soundsystem to fully appreciate the EP. Enjoy the free download!

Bassnectar – Freestyle EP : Full 6 Song Dubstep / Bass EP

After getting teased with the free Freestyle Mixtape and “Breatheless (ft. Mimi Page)”, we now get the full 6 song Freestyle EP from Bassnectar released today. This EP features 6 tracks compiled of 4 originals, and 2 new remixes from both Zion-I and Amp Live & Eligh. I always have high expectations for Bassnectar, and he always delivers. His EP from earlier this year, Wildstyle was great, but due to how raw and brutal it was, made me crave the more melodic side of Bassnectar. He delivers just that with this release. My favorite track on the release might be the his remix of Zion-I’s “Human” which gets turned into the perfect hip-hop dubstep anthem. Coming in second for favorite might be “Freestyle (Ft. Angel Haze)”, it just had such a unique different flavor to it. It’s a great EP, listen below and purchase through iTunes. Enjoy!
