Zeds Dead – Hot Sauce EP [Mad Decent] [Review] [TSIS PREMIERE]

Zeds Dead continue their strong and steady journey as musical artists and set 2013 off properly with the release of their “Hot Sauce EP”. It is easily their most daring to project to date and Diplo’s incredibly versatile Mad Decent record label couldn’t be a more fitting home to release this genre-venturing project from the Canadian duo.

Starting off the ride is “Demons”, acting as the perfect transition from the past Zeds Dead sound they are known for to the new foreign styles contained on the EP. It is an incredibly slow paced brutal banger filled with piercing spine rattling drops and retro horror samples. Next up “Mr. Sub” takes us down a refreshing techy jungle ride that is a complete 180’ in overall mood. This song, which is named after the group’s home country’s sandwich chain, provides a great stepping-stone towards the rest of the EP.  “Playa” is floor shaking, siren packed, rage filled inducing rave anthem that sounds unlike anything I have ever heard. Next up is the cleverly named “Rave”, featuring a revamped breakbeats track giving a tribute to the music that filled the UK rave scene. It let’s you get lost in the engulfing breaks while still carrying out the Zeds Dead flavor you crave. The closing track “Trouble” has the duo go back to the gritty slow paced glitch-hop sound they perfected on their past EP featuring Omar LinX, Victor.  The song revolves around a simple infectious piano line and drumbeat that is a slow yet powerful way to end the bold release.

All in all, the EP takes some huge risks, defying most of what is getting released right now. These are the bold signs of true artists who are leading the way, and not following the trends.  You can listen to the EP below, and purchase it through through Beatport and iTunes. Enjoy.

The Prodigy – Breathe (The Glitch Mob Remix) : Massive Glitch / Bass Music Official Remix

We already heard Zeds Dead’s take on The Prodigy classic dance anthem “Breathe” and now get The Glitch Mob’s take. They use a fair amount more of the originals vocals giving the track a completely different feel. They manage to convey their signature glitched out bass heavy style while highlighting the iconic electronic group. Prepare to have your ear drums tingled with some future spacey purple sounds thanks to Mimosa‘s latest remix. He takes on Detroit based singer JMSN and his smooth track “Girl (I Used To Know)”. He takes the seductive R&B vocals and blends them full of purple trill swag infused with a futuristic Tron vibe. This track’s been on repeat. A change of pace from some of his past heavier remixes. [TSIS PREMIERE] R/D – Love Hard : Heavy Dubstep

Today we have a BANGER that has got unqiue sound blending some elements of Moombahton, Glitch, and Dubstep. It’s from R/D, the producer we featured his remix to Loyal Divid”s “Vision Vision” track a few months back. The track has a great buildup, then drops heavy.. but it took until 1:22 to make me really fall in love with the track. R/D really manages to get across emotion through his music unlike the majority of dubstep producers just trying to be heavy. This track should not be listened to on laptop speakers find somewhere to properly to hear it. Enjoy!

After 2pac comes back from the dead through Hologram form at Coachella, it only seems fitting to drop a bass heavy track featuring some of his vocals. Even better, Notorious B.I.G. is here to accompany Pac on this track. This is a new bass heavy glitchy track from heRobust, a fresh new electronic producer / DJ from Atlanta, Georgia. It has a quick intro with a minor tease before the real crunchy drop. This features “Crush On You” by Biggie and “Do For Love” by 2pac. heRobust does a great job at sampling both rappers and really creating a new track with a fresh hip hop vibe and a crunchy electronic edge. Today I have the visuals to the single “Lost In Translation” from Sexytime’s upcoming paid release Naked Poetry EP that we are sponsoring. Today I’m excited to bring you a very sexy song. It’s a new track from a collaboration project called Sexytime featuring producer / DJs Mimosa and Sleepyhead. This is far from Mimosa’s hard hitting dubstep, but a venture into the sexy more melodic side. It sounds like a funny word, but after listening, you’ll get it. Coyote Kisses – Acid Wolfpack + Galactic Love Song : Must Hear Electronic / Dubstep / Bass Music

Today I’ve got some insane bass filled tracks that sound unlike any other. It’s from the duo Coyote Kisses who brought the MASSIVE Star Wars – Binary Sun remix, also posted below. They fuse a certain melodic element with hard hitting bass in such a way that my ears can’t get enough. I’ve seen these guys play a twice now, they had a lot of energy and were really fun to watch. We had them at our Ultra late night party in Miami, can’t wait to see the video. The first track Acid Wolfpack has been floating around online awhile, we posted it when it was a free download, but just recently got released onto Beatport to the DJ community alongside Galactic Love Song. Kool and the Gang – Jungle Boogie (Freddy Todd Remix ft. Busta Rhymes) : Must Hear Bass Music / Classic / Hip Hop Remix Bootleg [TSIS EXCLUSIVE]

Today I’ve got a sick new track combing so many things. It’s the classic ”Jungle Boogie” from Kool and the Gang pumped full of glitched out bass. The remix is done by Freddy Todd a real talented producer from Detroit, MI. He hit me up to release this song, and It’s been repeat since the first listen. He took the track pumped full of some groovy crunch. On top of remixing the classic he also added some vocals from Busta Rhymes giving the track hip hop vibe pulling the track all together. It’s sometimes tricky remixing a classic, but he defintely did this one justice. Turn it up, enjoy!

The vocals and the slow paced crushing bass works so well. The first drop almost through me off, then the bass comes crashing in. This is a really unique great sounding track. Today I’ve got a very funky bass packed remix premiere from a new artist I haven’t featured on the site yet. His name is R/D, and he’s a San Francisco based producer who generated some of his initial buzz from being a past roommate with members of The Glitch Mob. His sound defintely translates some of the Glitch Mob style with the fast glitched out transitions and buildups, and the crunchy drops. This track, a remix of Loyal Divide’ ‘Vision Vision’. works very well, making the original track into a bass packed festival anthem. Turn it up, enjoy!

AC/DC – Thunderstruck (Protohype Remix) : Filthy Dubstep / Glitch Remix [TSIS PREMIERE]

Ever since I heard some of the first remixes I’d ever heard, I’ve always wanted a massive remix to ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC. It has the epic guitar intro that’s just crying to get worked into a bass filled monster. Well today I’ve got a remix of the classic track, done by the dubstep / glitch producer duo Protohype. We featured their ‘Money All Around Me’ remix, and the original ‘Like Dis’. This track starts with the guitar, then the crushing glitched out bass starts crashing in. This is a song that should only be played very loud. Turn it up, enjoy!
