Long time TSIS featured artist GRiZ isn't your typical electronic artist.
It has been quite a succesful year for him as he's played epic festival sets across the country, multiple sold-out tours featuring iconinc headline plays everywhere from Red Rocks Amphitheatre to The Tabernacle. This is on top of releasing his Say It Loud album, and beat tape album Chasing the Golden Hour, in addition to one of most succesful singles to date "Good times Roll", a collaboration with Big Gigantic.
To celebrate all of this and give back to the people in general, GRiZ and his record label All Good Records have launched the second annual 12 Days of Grizmas. It's a "holiday fundraising extravaganza" as they call it, and that is certainly true.
They are partnering with Little Kids Rock, an incredible organization aimed at ensuring music programs are available for the youth in America.
For 12 days, GRiZ will be interacting with his fans amongst a series of unique fan expeiences in his hometown of Detroit. This includes visiting dog shelters, delivering food to the homeless, donating coats, and more. There will also be beer tasting at a local Michigan brewery and a Detroit industry panel. He has also included a secret Warehouse event. This all leads up to his sold out show at the iconic Masonic Temple alongside FKJ, Big Wild and Will Sessions for the main event on December 19th.
2015 has been the first year that TSIS regular GRiZ has started to enlist some amazing talents to officially remix his track. We've seen some hot ones from Big Wild, Autograf, Naderi and more of "For The Love" a few months back.
Today we get an amazing rendition of his song "Stop Trippin" from rising trap force NGHTMRE. With a track record of impressive remixes of artists like Tep No and Porter Robinson and his recent trap anthem "Street", we were excited to hear he was unexpectedly remixing GRiZ.
NGHTMRE highlights the funky soulful vocal and instrumental elements of the original and flips it upside down into a certified festival anthem. From the new drums, epic buildups and relentless drops, this turned out to be quite a hit. He even manages to let the sax breakdown from the original shine through on the second drop. Listen to this track below and grab a free download thanks to the artists. Enjoy!

GRiZ has always been a strong supporter of his fans and 2 nights ago he reinforced his support during his New Orleans stop of his Super Shagadelic Tour when the venue's power was shut off due to the firealarm being pulled because of too much smoke in the venue.
Instead of letting the show end abruptly, GRiZ ditched his CDJ's on the fly and proceeded to play an epic sax solo all without a microphone or beat. We have the insane video that he just shared on his FB which captures the raw energy in the room during the unexpected acoustic sax solo. And some people think Electronic artists just push buttons but GRiZ proves them wrong :)!
GRiZ has been a long-time featured artist here at TSIS as we've covered all of his free albums and remixes as well as his tours and monumental headline shows at venues like Red Rocks (which commenced this last weekend). He just dropped off his end of summer closing mixtape / album Chasing The Golden Hour, and it seems like he's bringing the idea to life.
Something outside of his signature sound blending of funk, soul and gritty bass are his live shows. He is a true live performer in the electronic world outside of being a traditional DJ. Most notably is the fact that he's belting out Saxophone lines through the entire set as he infuses the instrument on every single one of his productions. On top of being a talented live musician, he has the lead member energy commanding the room with his charisma and upbeat attitude.
He's been able to sell out shows all across the world and has played a majority of the biggest music festivals. One thing that he's made sure to happen is he's NEVER ONCE done his own live stream of a live performance. Grant wants to make sure everyone watching him live gets the full GRiZ experience, until now.
He just played a huge set in New York at Electric Zoo and has been hanging around the city. He'll be taking over a private rooftop in New York starting at 6:45 EST on the dot. You can tune into the live stream in partership with Twitch through the embed below.
Starting time : 3:45pm PST // 4:45pm MST // 5:45 CST // 6:45pm EST
Watch the stream after the jump!
