The Saxophone playing funky bass producer GRiZ gives us the first look at his biggest production light rig yet that he has unveiled on his Rebel Era Tour in support of his recently release Rebel Era album. The video shows a quick glimpse into life on the road with GRiZ and openers Two Fresh and Marvel Years and crew. The production is combination of triangle LED panels in front, elevated diamond LED panels behind him, a huge LED net the spread the length of the stage behind him and a collection of awesome moving lights. The setup creates a cool atmosphere to highlight Grant moving around as he plays saxophone, guitar and even sing some effected vocals while launching and mixing every track. Don’t miss it if GRiZ is coming anywhere close to you, see all the tour dates here.
GRiZ – Rebel Era Tour
GRiZ has delivered one of the biggest gifts we could ask for this Tuesday with the release of his highly anticipated Rebel Era album. This release follows up his previous Mad Liberation LP and might actually exceed the record as GRiZ continues to develop his signature blend of live Electro-Soul. Rebel Era features 11 songs that span from gritty bass bangers to funky groove filled jams with Grant (GRiZ) even playing guitar on some tracks. The record includes featured guests Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic as well as newcomer funk trio The Floozies. For being only 23 years old, GRiZ has the potential to be one of the greats in our music culture and Rebel Era will only build upon the success he’s already seen. You can stream Rebel Era in its entirety below or purchase it on iTunes next week, but we recommend picking up a free download from GRiZ’s website today. Also, don’t miss catching GRiZ live on his Rebel Era tour as he brings out his own light production for the very first time! Dates here.

GRIZ drops us off a change of pace with an extra fresh bootleg remix of ‘Heartbeat’ from Childish Gambino. He takes a stab a ‘Jersey Club’, filled with smooth soulful vibes, subtle effects inspired by Cashmere Cat / Trippy Turtle. It’s exciting to see how easily GRIZ can step outside of his signature electro-soul / future-funk styling yet deliver such an amazing track. This is released as a free download, possibly to tide us over as we patiently wait details on his new album Rebel Era set for a release this month.

Rising electronic star GRiZ releases his first ever music video to his huge funk powered festival anthem “Smash the Funk”covering his “brief voyage as an artist” and discussing his sound as being “Electro-Soul” or “Future Funk”. The video showcases the electronic producer’s first year leaving his home of Detroit / East Lansing and living in Boulder, Colorado.
In his words :
This video is a look into my brief voyage as an artist and also behind the scenes of three sold out Colorado shows (Boulder, Denver, and Red Rocks.) I also wanted to do something completely different and have fun with the video so I took some old gear that had seen its day and retired it to the shooting range (it looks pretty badass in slow motion). I also talk a bit about what music means to me and where I have come from. Nearing the first anniversary of my debut album Mad LiberationI wanted to release this video that has been a journey itself to create.”

GRiZ – Too Young For Tragedy (Dj Green Lantern Remix) : Massive Trap / Hip-Hop Remix [Free Download] [TSIS PREMIERE]Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: BANGER, Bass Music, DJ Green Lantern, Electronic, Free Download, Griz, Hip-Hop, Rap, Remix, Trap, Trap Music
Last fall GRiZ let loose a beast of a dubstep anthem “Too Young for Tragedy” on his free album Mad Liberation. Legendary hip-hop DJ and producer Dj Green Lantern (Nas , Eminem, Etc.) took the liberty of a doing an official remix of the song and giving it a proper trap / hip-hop treatment. For the beginning section the remix doesn’t stray to far from the original minus some additional drums and some additional vocals.. until the massive drop at around 2:15 spinning the song in a completely different light. It hits you in the face chopping the track up left and right never letting you catch your breathe till the middle section, then you get hit again. The track was debuted in Dj Green Lantern’s POTATO DJ Mix, and now he has been enough to let us pass out the free download of the anthem. Turn up the bass for this one, Enjoy!

Detroit transplanted to Colorado electronic muscian GRiZ has been teasing with his Grizmatik project and a collaboration with Big Gigantic, yet has kept his solo productions under wrap since his highly successful free album Mad Liberation released last fall. “Gettin’ Live” is the first single from his newest currently unnamed record. Right from the beginning the song packs a unique twist of bass and soul unlike anyone else. The song features some Django Unlimited samples as well as some guitar and sax work from GRiZ himself, and also features a guitar solo from Muzzy the guitarist on his last record. As if ‘Gettin Live’ didn’t have enough energy, around the 2:30 mark, he let’s loose one of the dirtiest sections he has ever created. GRiZ has drastically improved as a producer, and has most definitely not lost that funky flavor we love. He has been nice enough to give this song out completely for free. Look out for more about his upcoming record slated to release sometime before summer. Enjoy!
