The young Brooklyn rapper also just delivered a non-album track “Born Day (AquariUS)” with Statik Selektah displaying his smooth production abilities as he samples Nas’ fitting lyrics “I woke up early on my born day, I’m 20 it’s a blessing."
Today Joey has unveiled B4.DA.$$, which sounds as if it came straight out of an early 90’s time capsule filled with smooth production and impeccable flows. The album features pleasant beats by a collection of amazing producers including Statik Selektah, Hit Boy, Dj Premier, Chuck Strangers, Kirk Knight, and more. As a Zane Lowe BBC 1 featured track, "Teach Me" has been dubbed "the hottest record in the world right now," and leaves us incredibly excited to hear this young Brooklyn rapper's forthcoming album. Teaming up with fellow Pro Era producer Chuck Strangers and New York’s ASTR provides for a horn laced beat that brings a higher energy level than we’ve seen previously from Joey. “Teach Me” serves as a bonus track off the album and features pop singer Kiesza on the amazingly catchy hook. Earlier this year, rapper Freddie Gibbs and legendary producer Madlib teamed up on Piñata to create one of the strongest pure hip-hop albums of the year. Piñata is peppered with stellar guest verses throughout the project with “Knicks” being one of the only tunes with just Freddie.
Well now "Knicks" has been remixed with rising legends Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson and Ransom all added to the track going in and out of Gibbs verses. The song is set to release apart of a Knicks Remix EP, which also comes up with an instrumental, on top of two unreleased Madlib beats, and a new song alongside BJ The Chicago Kid titled “Home.” The EP is set to release 11/18 but you can listen to the star studded remix below.
