Kanye West brings out Daft Punk, Skrillex and Odd Future for upcoming new album

Kanye West dropped a two word tweet “June Eighteen” signifying the upcoming release date for his 6th studio album. Daft Punk, Skrillex, Odd Future, Chief Keef, 2 Chainz, John Legend and more are set to be collaborators on the huge record. Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk said “Kanye doesn’t give a fuck” while Daft Punk counter part Guy-Manuel added “He’s a good friend”.  They have two tracks that sprang from working together. “One of them, I told him it sounded solid and powerful – I envisioned a cube when I heard it” is what Michal Gondry (Director and longtime Daft Punk friend) had to say about hearing the tracks. Stating a music video is already in the works. The album is said to be “even darker and more twisted” then Kanye’s previous LP release. Daft Punk also added that “It was very raw, He was rapping– kind of screaming primally.” 

June 18th looks to be a huge release with quite the cast. We will keep you posted on more details as they roll in.

The combination of Montreal based Lunice and Glasgow based Hudson Mohawke is unreal. The first song the unstoppable duo ever made together was “R U Ready”, and was self released on their soundcloud. It was then taken down almost immediately at request of Kanye West, who in turn used it in his Fashion show, see the video here. The Governors Ball NYC Music Festival 2013 Full Lineup : Impressive Lineup Including 50+ Acts on Randall’s Island, New York

As the the year continues to kick off we get another incredible lineup for one of the summer’s biggest parties in America. The Governors Ball takes place every year in New York City at Randall’s Island, an actual island. The festival is taking place over the weekend of June 6th, 7th, and 8th. It seems to always have a massive lineup filled with big headliners to some of the best buzzing upcomers. The Ball’s lineup tends to be a great mixture of everything hip. From a great balance of hip-hop, electronic, indie, blues, folk, and other live acts. It seems to be a great alternative for those in the North East not looking to make the nationwide trek.

This lineup is insane. Not an event to miss for anyone within range!

The duo TNGHT (Lunice + Hudson Mohawke) are really set out to make 2013 their year. There has been some word about the duo working with Kanye West. To further cement that idea Lunice just dropped through BBC, this simple yet powerful trap edit of the massive hit “Clique” by Kanye West featuring Jay-Z and Big Sean. This track has such a smooth, clean vibe to it, unlike a lot of the over the top agressive trap I have been hearing recently. Will keep you posted once we hear anything about an official releaes. This December Miami is getting hit with a new beast of a festival, UR1 Music + Art Festival taking place December 8th and 9th at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami, Florida, where the internationlly known Ultra Music Festival has taken place. Kanye West – Mercy (Figure Remix) : Must Hear Filthy Dubstep Remix + Bonus

Figure, one of the hardest hitting dubstep / drumstep producers in the game decided he would have his shot at remixing Kanye West’s “Mercy” feat. Big Sean, 2 Chainz, and Pusha T. We arlready got one from Stratus, and Triple Six Sound Club, which both hit hard.(See Music Video Here). Well Figure took the track and made possibly the sickest remix yet, with a nice dramatic intro, before he drops HEAVY. Here’s what Figure had to say about the track:

So Kanye West has started up his Good Fridays where he gives away free music on Fridays, he continues to prove you can sell lots of records and still give away great music. These tracks dropped earlier this month and the first track was originally called “Theraflu”and Kanye decided that wasn’t a good name and then changed it to “Way Too Cold”. It has a big beat and Kanye does a great job. The second track “Mercy” has an all star cast of G.O.O.D. music artists including Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz, which is from an upcoming G.O.O.D. album coming out with all of the artists. It has a heavy bassline with all the rappers killing it. Make sure you have a lot of bass to enjoy this one.
