Dillon Francis is known across the world for his laughable shenanigans, being the poster-child of Diplo's Mad Decent Records, and one of the few producers who continuously expands his genre selection to great effect. Following up on his massive performance last year, Mr. Francis graced the WorldWide Stage at this years Ultra Music Festival to deliver a robust collection of music for a captivated audience. Dillon not only kept the crowd entertained with humorous expletive chants, random dolphin effects and pulling off a successfull sit down for his track with DJ Snake "Get Low", but unleashed a fury of unreleased heaters we can only assume will be featured on his upcoming debut artist album. New collab's with Martin Garrix, TJR, Major Lazer, and a fresh remix of Chromeo's "Jealous" were mixed in with Dillon's original tracks during the hour long performance. Stream the set below and be on the look out for Dillon's album set to be released this July via Mad Decent. Enjoy

The dust has now settled from Ultra Music Festival 2014 and we can't help but think the highlight moment minus any controversy took place Sunday afternoon when OWSLA head honcho Skrillex joined forces with Mad Decent kingpin Diplo to turn up the main stage as Jack U for the second time since its inception last fall. The performance went above the crowds expectations as the two titans lifted the atmosphere going into the final hours of the festival. Firing off a string of tracks from Skrillex recent debut artist album Recess along with Diplo sprinkling a few choice originals , the two unleashed a fury of bpm smashing heaters including unreleased tracks from the Jack U project, GTA, TWRK, a jaw dropping collab between Antiserium and Snails, and a troll of their own involving an electro synth sample of George Michael's "Careless Whsiper". By the end of the set, which featured a serenade of Toto's "Africa", Jack U was trending worldwide via Twitter with adoration pouring in from fans and prominent producers / DJs alike. As we await the next Jack U appearance, the stream below will have to tie us over for now. Enjoy

dillon francis-dj-snake - get low

This is quite easily one of the most anticipated collaborations to be released this year as two of Mad Decent's finest producers finally deliver what is tipped to be a festival anthem for 2014. DJ Snake, who has a growing list of massive collaborations coming out this year and Dillon Francis, who's approaching the final stages of releasing his debut artist album threw everything but the kitchen sink at their original "Get Low", which compliments both artists unique styles to a T. The Arabian nights foundation makes way for an insatiable mixture of moombahton and trap elements that wreak havoc all over the beat. Turn your speakers all the way up and stream this track below! diplo-mad-decent-block-party-2013-recap

Over the past few summers, there is one event we’ve all looked forward to attending at least once and hoped we wouldn’t have to travel far to witness the Mad Decent Block Party. The at first small idea from the likes of  Mad Decent‘s head honcho Diplo along with label members Paul Devro and Jasper Goggins has evolved into a major touring event that continues to set the bar for how to incorporate a neighborhood party atmosphere and provide fun for all showcasing some of the best music you should be listening to.  The 2013 edition saw the MDBP expand from five stops to thirteen as cities like Las Vegas, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale, Atlanta, and were treated a full day of partying with some of electronic music’s biggest artists from multiple genres. Major Lazer, Zeds Dead, Flosstradamus, Danny Brown,  Matt & Kim, Riff Raff, Baauer, Big Gigantic, Dillon Francis, Griz and many more were all on hand at various stops along the way. They are talking about an even bigger event next year with potential stops at places ranging from Mexico City to Cleveland to Haiti haha. Check out this entertaining recap presented by Urbanears Enjoy

Diplo – Revolution EP : Huge 6 song release now available for download and stream [Trap / Hip-Hop / Electro]

Posted in Bangin, Mixtapes / Albums by nick | Tags: , , , , , , , ,

One of the biggest tastemakers in the electronic world Diplo drop’s his latest project, his Revolution EP now available via his label Mad Decent. The 6 song release continues to bridge his raw underground electronic roots with mainstream ready spin.

Starting off with ‘Biggie Bounce’ we get a radio friendly banger largely in part to guest rapper Travis Porter yet packs an underground punch thanks to guest co-producer the Indonesian Angger Dimas. ‘Revolution’ featuring Imanos and Faustix is another track aimed towards  that has been getting play over the past few months. We saw one of my favorite tracks ‘Crown’ featuring Mike Posner and Riff Raff surface a few months back and still holds true to be one of my favorite tracks from the release. ‘Rock Steady’ is an incredible rap track filled with some raw verses from Action Bronson, Riff Raff Mr. MFN eXquire and even featuring Nicky Da B who you maye recognize from ‘Express Yourself’. Helping close out the 4 original songs are 2 remixes, the first being an unbelievable remix to ‘Revolution’ from Boaz van de Beat, that really isn’t one to miss. Then we end with the TWRK remix to ‘Biggie Bounce’, which is a beefed up version of the original.

You can stream the EP below, and we would strongly recommend grabbing a copy via iTunes from Mad Decent.
