Major Lazer and Calvin Harris Perform Live Sets at X-Games in Aspen : 2 Hour Sets

The X-Games that take place in Aspen every year are one of the biggest events of the year in winter sports. And every year there ares some of the biggest musical acts to help set the mood. This year was electro pop star Calvin Harris and Diplo‘s party fueled Major Lazer. We have the full 60+ stream from each artist. Calvin Harris throws down a huge progressive / electro house set filled with countless hits from himself and other big acts, mixing seamlessly. The next day, (today), feature Major Lazer playing at set that didn’t let the cold stop them one bit. Diplo really manages connect with the crowd and get them moving, as usual. For those who couldn’t make be there this year, what a better way to enjoy it.

Ultra Music Festival 2013 Announces Official Phase 1 Lineup

After much hype and speculation, and fake images getting passed around, we get the official Phase 1 Lineup for Ultra Music Festival 2013. This is the festivals 15th year and the promise to be the biggest festival ever. The first phase of the lineup is very MASSIVE and features electonic acts from all over the spectrum, from house and trance to bass music side of things, also the live acts and everyone in between. Deadmau5 despite past conflicts with Ultra has agreed to be one of the headliners of the massive Miami party. Another huge notable performance is from Swedish House Mafia as this marks 2 of their last performances ever… until the have an even bigger reunion tour in 2 years.. haha. Tickets are on sale still for the event, grab them before it sells out like the past 3 years.

Buku Music & Art Project 2013 Lineup + Details : Kid Cudi, Calvin Harris, Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, STS9, Nero, Flux Pavillion, Big Gigantic & More!

Easily one of the most enjoyable festivals of this past year was Buku Music & Art Project which took place in New Orleans last march. The festival had an intimate vibe being under 10,0000 people, and took place  right on the water at Mardi Gras World, the famed warehouse / shipyard that all of the insane Mardi Gras floats get built at year round. The uniquely set festival also boasted a jaw dropping lineup which featured Skrillex, Wiz Khalifa, Avicii, Diplo, Big Gigantic, Porter Robinson, Big K.R.I.T., and Wolgang Gartner among others. With so many of the aritsts from last years lineup exploding in size, I coudln’t help but wonder how they could possibly match the lineup.. Well look below and you will see they more then matched it, it might be even better! The festival will be returning to New Orleans in 2013 for the weekend of March 8th and March 9th.  We are excited to be partnering up with Buku again for 2013! Tickets go on sale for Buku 2013 this Friday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. CST.

So Major Lazer continues to showcase Diplo’s incredible fusion of reggae and modern electronic elements fit for mass appeal. We get another new track off of Major Lazer Frees The Universe with “Jah No Partial”, a collaboration with Flux Pavillion, brings a harder even more bass heavy edge not typically seen with Major Lazer. The two sides of the world come clashing for the perfect collaboration. I can’t imagine who this track wouldn’t appeal to. Major Lazer is such a unique blend of reggae infused party music produced by Diplo. Today I’ve got a HUGE summer banger, and Major Lazer flips the indie pop group Hot Chip‘s single “Look At Where We Are” and loads it full of reggae, electronic fused jungle magic making for a track I haven’t been able to stop replaying. I’m convinced Diplo isn’t capable of making anything short of gold. Turn this up, and will keep you posted when the download get’s released.
