The Weeknd follows up his debut tri-mitape album release Trilogy with the first 2 songs off his upcoming album Kiss Land in a 7 minute back to back clip.  “Kiss Land” with the same name as the album follows his expected graphic female focused lyrics we saw on his previous releases. While “John Carptner” we get a change of pace from Abel as he talks about his drug habits and  the transition from never leaving home and then seeing the world. Extremely versatile producer Paper Diamond just let loose his latest single off the upcoming Paragon EP. It is a collaboration with Christian Rich titled “XIX” featuring vocalist Angela McCluskey. The song is packs some insanely melodic vibes with the soft vocals adding just the right touch. The song has song has some trap inspired drums yet conveys a certain humanistic soulful quality unlike most songs I have been hearing lately. Brazilian based producer Eric Farias drops us off a meldoic dubstep remix to “Sun & Moon” by Above & Beyond featuring the vocals of Richard Bedford. He takes the smooth trance track and tastefully turns it into a powerful full on bass throwing beast. He highlights all the perfect sections of the oriringal letting the bass crash just the right amount. It is impressive to see Eric create such a great dubstep track when he typically is dropping Electro House anthems. He was nice enough to give this out as a free download. Turn it up, enjoy.

Here is an artist that we haven’t featured much of, the talented Halifax native, Ryan Hemsworth. He is another young producer who is making some incredible material. This song “BasedWorld” was given out for free to kick off 2013, and that it did. It has a smooth chilled out minimalistic feel, yet still conveys the fresh flair of trap. The song subtlety builds up further and futher as the songs progresses, leading to claps that have seeemed more climatic.It is safe to say Ryan gets where music is music. Enjoy the free download.

Whoaaa.. forewarning this is one of those tracks that if listened to in the right setting will leave you with chills. UK based live dubstep band Modestep covered “Paradise” by Coldplay and brought life to the track in ways I never thought possible. Minnesota – Altered States EP : 5 Song Melodic Soulful Dubstep / Trap EP [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Everything that I hear produced by Minnesota packs so much soul and melodic vibes, and today we get Altered States, a 5 song EP spanning from dubstep to trap / hip-hop to even some glitch hop. We first heard “To the Floor” and which contained various elements some familiar and some foreign and delivered them in a very unique way. He even stepped outside the box and collaborated with Zion-I for a new version of “Float”, which seems like a natural fit with their hip-hop / electronic chemistry. This EP packs 5 solid tracks that leave you wanting more from Minnesota, doing just what a great EP should do. He also chose to give it out for free, something we push hard. Sub Focus – Tidal Wave ft. Alpines (Music Video) : Melodic Smooth Dubstep Music Video

“Tidal Wave” by Sub Focus has been making waves with remixes including the Flosstradamus remix that we featured earlier this month, and now we get the full length version of the original complete with full music video. The song features vocals from Alpines who is featured in the music video. Not sure if there is some bigger meaning, or if its’ basically just shots of a girl and a guy, and then “tidal waves”, but the audio of this is incredbile. It’s got such  powerful melodic drop that reminds me of Adventure Club, with the vocals from Alpines that will instantly get stuck in your head. I’ve been replaying this song non-stop. Enjoy!

The Great Flood Catastrophe – Fallen Love (Kill Paris Remix) + The Love We Shared (2012 B-Side) : Incredible Soulful Electronic Indie Songs

There has been such an influx of amazing new music I didn’t want to post these until there was enough time to really appreciate it. It’s from Kill Paris,  and it’s two more incredible tracks he’s labeled “Panty Soak and Drop-step”, which after listening makes a little more sense. We’ve featured 3 of his songs with downloads a few months back, and they still make there way on to my playlists. He makes incredibly melodic bass packed indie electronic songs all packed with soulful edge.The first of which is from a relatively unknown indie rock group The Great Flood Catastrophe, “Fallen Love” turned into one of the sexiest freshest songs I’ve heard awhile.

The second song “The Love We Shared (2012 B-Side Remix)” uses the vocal from “In My Mind (ft. Georgi Kay) Axwell Mix)”, but with an incredible level of fresh electro-soul energy. He’s got such a defined smooth soulful style always packing a modern electronic kick. I can’t get enough of this guy, and can only imagine what full lenth EP or album would be like. Paper Diamond – The 40 Thieves : Melodic Electronic Trap BANGER + Night Vision 2012 Tour Dates

So I know we’ve been posting a good amount of trap lately.. but I couldn’t the latest from Paper Diamond, which is honestly is more of his own genre rather then trap. It’s got his signature melodic flair with a bass heavy kick, complete with the essential fresh trap hip-hop influenced drums.
