Kanye West brings out Daft Punk, Skrillex and Odd Future for upcoming new album
Posted in Bangin, News by nick | Tags: Chief Keef, Collaboration, Daft Punk, kanye west, New Album, Odd Future, SkrillexKanye West dropped a two word tweet “June Eighteen” signifying the upcoming release date for his 6th studio album. Daft Punk, Skrillex, Odd Future, Chief Keef, 2 Chainz, John Legend and more are set to be collaborators on the huge record. Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk said “Kanye doesn’t give a fuck” while Daft Punk counter part Guy-Manuel added “He’s a good friend”. They have two tracks that sprang from working together. “One of them, I told him it sounded solid and powerful – I envisioned a cube when I heard it” is what Michal Gondry (Director and longtime Daft Punk friend) had to say about hearing the tracks. Stating a music video is already in the works. The album is said to be “even darker and more twisted” then Kanye’s previous LP release. Daft Punk also added that “It was very raw, He was rapping– kind of screaming primally.”
June 18th looks to be a huge release with quite the cast. We will keep you posted on more details as they roll in.

Avicii – New Album Promo Mix 2013 : Including New Album Tracks
Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: Avicii, Avicii Country Album, House, New Album, progressive house, Promo Mix 2012, Ultra Music FestivalAvicii played main stage at this year’s Ultra Music Festival and through down a contreversial set debuting tracks off his new album. He collaborated with artists such as country star Mac Davis, bluegrass musician Dan Tyminski, singer Audra Mae, soul artist Aloe Blacc, Incubus guitarists Mike Einziger and Ben Kenney. His set got critsized for having too much of a country and live influence. The live instrumentation may have been a little to overwhelming for the DJ mold seen at Ultra. The funniest part is that people hated on Avicii when he would played “Levels” non stop and other typical house tracks, and now hate on the guy for stepping outside of the box and bringing in live instrumentation to house music.
He just let loose “Promo Mix 2013″ featuring a lot of the tracks he debuted at his live set. The mix basically sounds the Avicii you know with some adiditonal live elements. It spans from progressive house to some gritty electro action. Loving what I have heard so far. Listen and let us know what you think? Enjoy!

We typically are more reluctant to post something without 100% confirmation, but this is less then a week after we were sent the actual Lollapalooza leaked lineup, mixed with Daft Punk releasing a new album next month had our hopes up. We are implementing a more in depth fact check process moving forward to never let something like this ever happen again. Hope you all can forgive us for this simple mistake, which has been corrected quickly. We are sorry to get anyone’s hopes up. Ours were crushed just as hard.

Big Boi – Shoes For Running (Feat. B.O.B. & Wavves) : Must Hear Indie / Hip-Hop Collaboration
Posted in Chill by nick | Tags: B.o.B., Big Boi, Hip-Hop, indie, New Album, Rap, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, WavvesBig Boi is making a serioius statement with his newest album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. Rivavling “She Hates Me (ft. Kid Cudi” for my favorite track off the album is “Shoes For Running” which is a indie / hip-hop fusion bringing on rapper B.o.B. and indie group Wavves. This song is so catchy in all the best ways. It sounds like Big Boi brough B.o.B. and had a beach party creating a track completely unlike anything I would ever expect from Big Boi.. yet working so unexpectedly well. All I can say is grab Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors when drops on December 11th. For now here is another sample to tide you over. Enjoy!

Big Boi – She Hates Me (ft. Kid Cudi) : Incredible Hip-Hop Collaboration off of Big Boi’s New Album
Posted in Chill by nick | Tags: Big Boi, Chill, Hip-Hop, Kid Cudi, New Album, Rap, Vicious Lies and Dangerous RumorsWhoa.. I just got to listen to most of the new Big Boi album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.. and damn it might swoop in taking the title away from Kendrick Lamar’s‘good kid, m.A.A.d city’ a run for best mainstream hip-hop release of 2012. Big Boi has completeley adapted to the times and created a very diverse album with influences that you would expect and a ton of fresh new indie influence that works unbelievably well. We first got to sample “Line (Ft. A$AP Rocky & Phantogram)”. One of the fan favorites is going to be “She Hates Me”, a chilled out collaboration track calling for Kid Cudi to help out. The chemistry between the two aritsts over the simple yet effective beat makes for instantly one of my favorite tracks I have heard all year. This is a song underground fans will love, but could all crossover to mainstream reminding me of Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness”. Until Big Boi’s Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors comes out December 11th, you can play this track on repeat. Enjoy! (Let me know if anyone is having problem with the new player.. comment below!)
