Skrillex Big Grams

Big Boi and Phantogram surprised the world earlier this year with their newly unvelied Big Grams project which has their debut Big Grams EP set to release at midnight tonight. Right before the release we get our ears one one of the most anticipated tracks on the record, the collaboration with Skrillex.

“Drum Machine” brings the raw bass energy from Skrillex and infused with the fun indie electronic edge of Phantogram while being tied together with Big Boi’s hip-hop edge for a potpourri of sounds and genres that works so well. You can listen to the stream of the song below and pre-order your copy of the EP that releases at midnight (September 25th). Enjoy!

Big Boi Phantogram Big Grams

Following the announcement of a collaborative project between Big Boi and Phantogram, the first single off their EP has been released. These two previously worked together on Big Boi’s “CPU” from his album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors and they showed an immediate chemistry as it was a standout from his album. It makes sense they would team up on a new projects and it sounds like they plan on continuing to work together but they have gone as far to create new project fittingly called "Big Grams".

“Fell In The Sun” brings an epic hip hop beat with crashing drums and Phantogram's signature production style as the vocals offer the catchy chorus in between Big Boi’s verses. The beat has a breakdown where Phantogram’s singer changes it off with some rapping, which works perfectly. This new release appears on the 7-track EP along with features from Skrillex and Run The Jewels and is due September 25th. Enjoy

Big Boi – Lines (Ft. A$AP Rocky & Phantogram) : Fresh Hip-Hop / Indie

It’s a been quite a while since hearing from Big Boi, but now get a very fresh new track “Lines” featuring rapper A$AP Rocky and indie electronic duo Phantogram. This is a very dope complete change of pace then what anybody’s grown to expect from Big Boi. A$AP and Big Boi both throw down some solid bars in between Sarah of Phantogram’s vocals. The unlikely chemsitry of all three works very well. This is the first cut off of Big Boi’s upcoming new album Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors set to release 12/11/12. Enjoy!
