Underground hip-hop legends Atmosphere have appealed to a wide audience while maintaining their underground aesthetic with their releases. They recently provided us with “This Lonely Rose,” a collaboration alongside fellow underground rapper Aesop Rock, and this new track builds off its success.

Written and produced by Atmosphere, “My Best Half” is an appropriate name for this ode to Slug’s wife as he states “The first time I met my wife was on a Wednesday night, making party in a german bar. Here's a new jam. "My Best Half". The beat brings a classic, boom-bap style beat with piano key work and a constant, creeping bassline coming together while the smooth lyrics are laid on top. Chance the Rapper performed as Saturday Night Live’s first independent artist, and debuted a new track to go along with the special achievement. In the live perfomance, Chance recruited R&B and hometown friend Jeremih to lay down silky, soulful vocals for the studio audience.

This new track “Somewhere in Paradise” was produced by Chance's longtime bandmates The Social Experiment alongside Corin of Purity Ring; they've crafted a perfect flow of dreamy melodies for the vocalists to shine atop. Chance shows off his signature choppy flows with clever lyricism to boo and even brought Chicago legend R.Kelly into the mix to lay down some choice vocals.

As we anxiously await Chance the Rappers third mixtape, enjoy this free release below and check back for more news as it breaks!
