The two sides of the world come clashing for the perfect collaboration. I can’t imagine who this track wouldn’t appeal to. Skrillex & Damian Marley – Make It Bun Dem (Official Music Video) + (Remix Contest) : Remix Contest to Have an Official OWSLA Release

Skrillex teamed up with Damian Marley earlier this year to make a ground breaking collaboration “Make It Bun Dem”. Besides blending reggae and dubstep in ways nobody though was possible, it also seriously put Damian Marley back on the map. We featured the After Hours remix package of the track featuring some very eerie and chaotic tracks from producer like Alvin Risk and Brodinski. Now the track got a full production music video with an interesting twist as usual (see above). It shows a family getting evicted, then a native american boy doing a rain dance, then gets suited up with feathers and lets loose a fiery dragon out of his chest. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite video from Skrill, but it’s defintely pretty interesting.Read further for details on the new ‘Make It Bun Dem’remix contest

All that is available is a 2 minute cut of the track, but you get to check out a good part of the epic track. It even has some sort of a minor dubstep drop. Well he got asked to do an official remix for California based Reggae group Rebelution.. and he killed it. He adds his funky bass flavor without ever getting to intense, to maintain the vibe of the original song. Major Lazer is such a unique blend of reggae infused party music produced by Diplo. Today I’ve got a HUGE summer banger, and Major Lazer flips the indie pop group Hot Chip‘s single “Look At Where We Are” and loads it full of reggae, electronic fused jungle magic making for a track I haven’t been able to stop replaying. I’m convinced Diplo isn’t capable of making anything short of gold. Turn this up, and will keep you posted when the download get’s released. Today I’ve got a very fresh new album that I can’t stop listening to and somehow slipped through getting posted until now. It’s the free album / mixtape “Echo Boom” from Cris Cab. It has some feel good reggae vibes, mixed with a modern hip hop twist and pumped full electronic energy. Cris Cab, for those unaware is a singer / rapper from Miami, Florida that has a great feel good summer vibe, that I personally love.  He uses an acoustic to power the entire project and it couldn’t have worked better. It has some huge collaboration tracks with Wyclef Jean and Pharrell to name a couple. I’ve picked a few of my favorites, but if you dig Chris Cab’s sound check out the entire album.
