Posted in Bangin, Chill by nick | Tags: Free Download, Remix, Team Bayside High, The Postal Service, Trap, Trap MusicThe Postal Service‘s indie anthem “Such Great Heights” just got a proper trap treatment thanks to Chicago based Team Bayside High. They flipped the iconic electronic fueled track and added all the right trap elemenets to completely flip it into a trap banger. They leave us with a completely new track that sounds nothing like the melodic original. Enjoy the free download, and remember the The Postal Service is coming out with their 10 year Anniversary Re-Issue of their Such Great Heights album, complete with two new songs including the already featured “A Tattered Line of String”. Grab the download, turn this up, enjoy!

The Postal Service Release New Song “A Tattered Line Of String” : Indie / Electronic
Posted in Chill by nick | Tags: Chill, Dance, Electronic, indie, The Postal ServiceAfter no word from either member of the Death Cab for Cutie member Ben Gibbard’s side project The Postal Service for a seemingly endless time, we got the announcement of a Re-Issue of Give Up alongside 2 new unreleased songs. Today we get “A Tattered Line Of String” which feels completely different from past material from The Postal Service. Instead of their past slow paced meloncholic vibe producer Jimmy Tambrello has added an upbeat dance flavor. It wasn’t what I expected, but I still dig it. This also follows up the announcement that they will be one of the headliners at this year’s Coachella Music & Art Festival.
This is one of two new songs apart of the Give Up 10th Anniversary Re-Issue set to release on April 9th.

Posted in Events, News by nick | Tags: Bassnectar, Coachella, Coachella 2013 Lineup, Coachella music & art fesival, Full Lineup, Indio Valley, Knife Party, Lineup, pretty lights, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Postal Service, The XX, Wu-Tang Clan…..No Daft Punk. The lineup just got released for the most buzzed about festival in the country, Coachella Music & Art Festival. The legendary festival which takes place in the sunny Indigo Valley, California every year expanded to two weekends last year to accommodate the incredibly high demand. The 2013 festival will be taking place over April 12th – 14th and April 19th – 21st.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, January 29th at 10am PST.
So there is no Daft Punk.. yet again. I guess we were silly for letting our hopes get up once again. But there is a reunion from Wu-Tang Clan, which is more then dope. Also confirmed is the much speculated reunion of Ben Gibbard electronic project The Postal Service. Of course Red Hot Chili Peppers will be incredible, but didn’t they just play every festival last year? Phoenix is an incredible band, so that’s awesome to see them headline. All in all for Coachella standards I would say the headliners are a tad weak, and they have definitely shifted more towards live acts again. Make sure to read the small text because there defintely is a the stacked lineup of everyone underneath the headliners.
In the electronic spectrum we have Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Knife Party, Benny Benassi, TNGHT, Eric Prydz, Dog Blood (Skrillex + Boys Boize), Major Lazer, Disclosure, Hardwell, Kill the Noise, Wolfgang Gartner, Nicky Romero, Excision and that’s just a handful.
In the hip-hop world, besides Wu-Tang Clan we have 2 Chainz, Danny Brown, Jurassic 5, Pusha T, and Earl Sweatshirt.
What is everyone’s thoughts?
The Postal Service Show Signs of Return in 2013 [BREAKING NEWS]
Posted in Chill, News by nick | Tags: 2013, 2013 Reunion, Death Cab for Cutie, Electronic, indie, New Music, News, Reunion, The Postal ServiceI hope that a fair amount of you remember The Postal Service, the incredible electronic side project duo featuring Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and producer Jimmy Tamborello which debuted all the way back in 2003 with their album Give Up. Well the group grew a powerful following through the grapevine over years, yet never released any new music. Well today that changes, with signs of a possible reunion and new music. They have launched a new website with the simple message shown above, which could only mean a possible reunion. I don’t want to get my hopes up to high before an official release date out of Ben Gibbard’s mouth, but this defintely opens up some possibilities. Lots of New Music? Potential Coachella play??
UPDATE: The group has announced that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of their album Give Up next month through Sub Pop. There is also confirmation from Billboard that the group will be performing at this year’s Coachella Music Festival!!
To celebrate this good sign, I have picked out a handful of great tracks from The Postal Service. Get ready for a blast of Nostalgia. If you don’t have their album Give Up, or just need a new copy, I wouldn’t wait any longer and find a copy your own way or through iTunes Here.
