Toronto to Dallas Rapper Tory Lanez just dropped off an incredible video for a brand new “Sh!t Freestyle” that is more like a music video then your typical freestyle video. This follows up his highly successful breakout mixtape Conflicts of my Soul. We watch Tory in a hotel room dropping relentless verses surrounding by twerking girls. The Tory Lanez seen in this video is a far more mature artist, showing more promise then ever expected for his 2014 career (including a future RL Grime collaboration) . He is starting to remind of me of a Drake / A$AP Rocky mixed, yet still carving his unique sound. Thoughts on Tory’s more mature new sound?
“If you want to make amazing music, get together with a friend and start your own little scene that can become a community…”
What seemed like an unorthodox pairing from the start has turned into a worldwide music phenomenon as the partnership of Skrillex and Boys Noize as Dog Blood created a whirlwind of attention this year. Both pioneers in their respective genres, the collaborative efforts and unique on stage chemistry of Sonny and Alex have rocked the very foundation of the electronic music community. In that same ‘Day of the Dead’ festival set, Skrillex also managed to debut some other unreleased songs ending the night with a huge new remix to a song called ‘DJ Ease My Mind’ from Niki & The Dove. The original features a fantastic set of vocals and piano sections which Skrillex leaves intact before adding a brutal drop with an Arabian twist. Abusing the replay button is the only option until a better quality version is released and we will keep you updated as more information comes in. Enjoy.

Gesaffelstein Attempts To Redefine French House and Techno in Game Changing Full Length Album “Alpeh LP” : Album Review and Full StreamPosted in Album Review, Bangin, Mixtapes / Albums by Bryan | Tags: Aleph, French Electro, Gesaffelstein, Pursuit, Techno, Video
French techno god Gesaffelstein has released his debut album Aleph worldwide. Having co-produced ‘Black Skinhead’ & ‘Send It Up’ on Kanye West’s new album Yeezus along with a handful of other impressive original releases under his belt including the captivating ‘Pursuit’, Gesaffelstein has drawn fans new and old to digest the full force of his musical talents. ‘ALEPH’ ALBUM STREAM LOCATED AT BOTTOM OF POST
Gesaffelstein (pronounced GRR-saff-ell-STINE) is a conjunction between the historical physicist Albert Einstein and the German word ‘Gesamtkunstwerk’, which stands for the perfectionism of art between image, sound and video. It is his unique scrutiny to the three aforementioned characteristics that has guided Gesaffelstein to the heights he has reached today. The current attention surrounding Gesaffelstein is not his own doing though seeing he is a rather a quiet and remote individual, but more of his peers and the media who have spoken lavishly over his exceptional musical creations for years now. Consistently pushing the boundaries of electro/techno genres by offering a sinisterly dark, yet energetic twist to the norm is why Gesaffelstein is held in the same regard as Justice, Diplo, Brodinski, and Daft Punk.
Aleph weighs in at a modest 14-tracks and will take listeners less than one hour to complete in its entirety. Gesaffelstein’s introduction track ‘Out Of Line’ sets the tone of the album perfectly as a melodic drum pattern is met with sharp burst of synths and an eerie females verbal tirade. From that point on, the ebb and flow of ‘Aleph’ is quite stunning and will lock listeners in a trance like state. For every cluster of tracks showcasing Gesaffelstein’s gritty & raw french electro/house production, they are followed by one or two minimalistic tracks where the composition is so simple yet engages listeners to take an unknown journey into the depths of the Frenchman’s mind.
One particular track on Gesaffelstein’s Aleph has captivated the electronic music communities attention in the same manner as Skrillex’s ‘Scary Monster and Nice Spirits’ or Flux Pavilion’s ‘Bass Cannon’. The broodingly energetic ‘Pursuit’ is a hodgepodge of bone-chilling synths, waning sirens, and hard hitting drops. Throw in a few eerie chants that assist building the beat up and you have a song that when played makes any activity seem much cooler than you previously remembered. The official music video for ‘Pursuit’ serves as work of modern-day art as the storyline plays out images, inspirations, colors and movies that invoke Gesaffelstein’s imagination.
Gesaffelstein – ‘Pursuit’ (From Aleph Album)
Without using samples or potential copyrighted material unlike many of his colleagues , Aleph stands tall in a league of its own by featuring 100% original music. If Aleph was to win an award for album of the year within its genre, it’s because it serves as a testament for the evolution of production within electronic music. As for Gesaffelstein’s future; it is as open as he’d like it to be. All we can do is wait with anticipation for what he has in store next. Enjoy

It was really a truly unique and amazing experience to witness live music and electronic music fused together like never before. The stage was structured to highlight 4 sections for the live musicians and Derick in them middle acting as the conductor for the revolutionary combination elements. In the words of Derek himself:

Kanye west is easily one of the most entertaining and regardless if you like it or not, influential people in the music world. He sat down with Zane Lowe for a very rare video interview spanning over 4 parts really diving into the unbelievably “complex” mind of Kanye West. This is the interview that Jimmy Kimmel has since made fun of and led to a “rap feud” with Mr. Kanye West.
Kanye does bring up some amazing points, but get’s diluted by some of crazy shit surrounding these great points.
Just watch all 4 parts of this now iconic interview and see for yourself and comment below:
Deadmau5 takes Zedd on an entertaining “Coffee Break!” car ride while interviewing him. He brings up questions about Zedd’s nationwide Clarity Tour that he has recently kicked off. Zedd also will not encouraging Deadmau5 to bring his iconic Mau5 head to his concert that evening. Zedd and Joel even comically discuss the writer of the lyrics for his song “Shave It”. We also get some typical backhanded Deadmau5 remarks slipped in the mix about Drake, Paramore and Avicii.
The video adds a very humanizing quality to both incredible producer / DJ’s. Hopefully Deadmau5 is serious and does continue this Coffee Break interview series.
