[NEWS] Logic Signs to Iconic Hip-Hop Record Label Def Jam Recordings
Posted in Chill, News, Video by nick | Tags: Def Jam, Hip-Hop, Logic, No I.D., Rap, Signs Record Deal, Video, Welcome to ForeverOne of our favorite rappers that we have been supporting since day one, Maryland based Logic just announced a monumental record deal signing with iconic record label Def Jam Recordings. His entire Visionary Music Group crew got signed, leaving him with full creative control, so we don’t have to worry about his sound changing. In the past 2 years he has released two highly succecsful This Song Is Sick sponsered mixtapes Young Sinatra: Undeniable and Young Sinatra as well as sold out all across the US and Europe, really making him the perfect candidate for the huge record deal. Now he will have all the tools to create the best possible music yet. He also locked in the legendary hip-hop producer No ID to produce his debut album, the producer famous for working with Kanye West, Jay-Z, Big Sean, Common and Nas.
For those unaware the impressive Def Jam umbrella includes Jay-Z Roc Nation, Kanye West’s GOOD Music, Rick Ross’s solo deal, Rihanna, and so many more. Now Logic will be joining the all star cast and like we mentioned bringing along his Vissionary Music Group family, so we can expect the signature Logic we love, yet working with a doper lineup of artists.
This also comes after just recently making it on the cover of the Freshmen Class issue of XXL Magazine alongside other rising starts including Joey Bada$$ and Trinidad James.
The video features one of the new singles off Logic’s upcoming Welcome to Forever mixtape. Also Logic recently announced he would be hitting up a city near you on his Welcome to Forever tour that is powered by Thissongissick.com, see all tour dates here.
We could not be more proud of such a hard working artist who really gives hope to anyone trying to aspire to be anything. Let’s see where he will go next!
Daft Punk are ‘Bringing Back Soul’ with Random Access Memories: Collaborators Documentary Episode 2 – Todd Edwards [MUST WATCH]
Posted in Bangin, Video by nick | Tags: Collaborators, Daft Punk, Documentar, Episode 2, Julian Casabl, Pharrell Williams, Random Access Memories, Robots, Soul, Todd Edwards, Video“When the music becomes focused on the effects that are being used, or the presets of sounds.. it’s computer.. there’s no soul there. Pretty ironic that two android (robots) are bringing back soul.”
The second episode in a truly iconic video series showing the back story of the mysterious french duo Daft Punk, leading up to the release of their 4th album release, Random Access Memories.
The episode dives into some very interesting topics including Daft Punk talking with past collaborator Todd Edwards. They talk on Daft Punk being in California trying to capture this “West Coast Vibe” s like various classic Amerian acts. Todd moves onto Daft Punk and how they have always been collaborating. Todd sang , co-wrote and co-produced “Face to Face” with Daft Punk. As he put it “They Are Always On to New Challenges”, consistently working with some of the greatest producers and muscians in the world for every one of their projects. For their new album this is no different.
Random Access Memories has an incredible lineup of highly speculated collaborators. The current reported collaborators currently include Strokes singer Julian Casablancas, Noah Lennox (aka Animal Collective’s Panda Bear), Pharrell Williams, Italian disco producer Giorgio Moroder, Chic’s Nile Rodgers, piano virtuoso Chily Gonzales, songwriter Paul Williams, seasoned session guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. (Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston), Todd Edwards, and DJ Falcon.
They have recruited a diverse lineup of real musicians all connecting with different fan bases in different ways. By working with these artists they will be able to transition a raw soulful essence that is missing the growing electronic world more focused on the effects then the actual music. One of the best lines at the end is “When the music becomes focused on the effects that are being used, or the presets of sounds on the computer, there is no soul their. Pretty ironic that two android robots are bringing back soul.” It couldn’t be more true. There is not electronic act with more buzz in the entire world, so there wouldn’t be anyone more suited to bring back soul. To say that their new album Random Access Memories is going to be a game changer, would be a huge understatement. May 21st couldn’t come any sooner. You can pre-order the album through iTunes.

He is not your typical DJ, he will stand behind the tables mixing about half the time, and spend the other half riding the crowd with a raft, slamming them with cakes, and untradtional DJ moves. He somehow has managed to make all of these things be what defines him and his live show. You can see it in all his glory on one of the biggest stages he has ever played, main stage at the 2013 Ultra Music Festival. You can watch the entirety above, you can also listen to the mix below. He dropped quite a few new tracks in this mix, see the track-list below. Enjoy!

Posted in Bangin by nick | Tags: Dubstep, Electronic, Manic Focus, Sample, VideoI’m real excited to bring you a very chill funky new song from Manic Focus, the guy who brought the massive Red Hot Chili Peppers, Trampled by Turtles and Gary Jules – Mad World remixes. Well today we get an original track from him, featuring Lissa Lottie, and it’s just as sick as his remixes. I love his sound, it’s almost got a old school Pretty Lights vibe to it, the sample based PL. It’s a great balance of mellow vibes filled with bass. The actual music video is a great touch, and has a wild hula hooping dancer. Turn it up, enjoy!

Posted in Bangin, Video by nick | Tags: BANGER, Blue Foundation, Dubstep, Electro, Electronic, Remix, Video, VIP, Zeds DeadJust last week the Canadian duo Zeds Dead played a soldout two night run at The Ogden Theater in Denver, CO. Now this was a very epic 2 nights, filled with severe amounts of bass, raging, sweat, and love for electronic music. Zeds Dead does an amazing job and blending all your favorite types of music for an action packed show that never leaves you on your toes. Because this was the first time Zeds Dead had done a 2 night run, they brought out rapper Omar LinX to make the two nights even more memorable.
Cinesthetics caught the entire two night experience, from the rowdiness and raw energy of the shows, to the more personal post show shots. (Cinesthetics is the company we teamed up with to bring the Avicii at Red Rocks and the Wolfgang Gartner videos). This video has epic visuals, alongside live audio from the show, and studio versions of unreleased Zeds tracks. TSIS helped Denver based Souls In Action with the concert, and are glad to be working with them on some exciting events in the future.
