Boombox Cartel Returns From Mysterious Absence With Heavy New Trap Single “Jefe”

||

Boombox Cartel is back! After taking a mysterious three-week absence from social media and leaving fans with the cryptic caption "until next time", the forward-thinking bass duo has returned in full-force with a fresh re-brand and the release of their new single "Jefe".

First off, the sound design is just so clean and on point. They instantly take you into this sonic world of theirs filled with hard drums, sirens and a dark melody thats winds up in similar fashion to The Dark Knight's soundtrack. The drop comes in a super raw form and is built on tinny trap synths that slice through the mix with ease.

The group had an incredible 2016 with impressive release after impressive release. On the remix end, they reworked Major Lazer's "Cold Water", Cash Cash's "How To Love" and their collaboration with NGHTMRE, "Aftershock". More importantly though they made great strides on the original front, especially with the release of their stunning single "Supernatural" with QUIX and Anjulie on Mad Decent.

We're glad to see Boombox Cartel back in action and are happy to share with you their first track of 2017, "Jefe", now available for free. Enjoy!
