Even before the now infamous TSIS secret closing party with Big Gigantic and Cherub, which took place on top of RV’s in General Admission camping the last night of Electric Forest, Thissongissick.com already had two other epic secret sets under our belts that will go down as festival folklore for years to come.

We were slated to curate the “Good Life” stage located in VIP camping on Friday night and amassed a collection of bass brethren to throw down a very rare b2b2b2b2b2b take-over that kicked off at 3AM. After decimating the main stage crowd with a close out set, OWSLA head honcho and Jack Ü co-captain Skrillex lead the charge and was joined behind the decks by Firepower Records ace Datsik, SMOG general and last minute festival addition 12th Planet, vomitstep aficionado Snails, pizza-gang advocate and crunk-step innovator Crizzly, and dubstep maverick Vaski

All six DJs/producers took the stage together across four CDJs. The song selection was nothing short of organized chaos as bass banger after bass banger melted the faces of all 1000+ attendee’s that packed the very intimate tent till just past 6AM.

Recreating something as stacked and intimate as this set was a daunting challenge, but a series of blessed events opened the door for another secret set Saturday night. This time marked our first return to the luminous forest since the iconic 2012 TSIS secret set that gave birth to Big Grizmatik (Big Gigantic + GRiZ + Gramatik). One of the most forward thinking producers in the game Mr. Carmack was chosen as man to start the night off, and ended up delivering much more.

As we commandeered the Grand Artique stage around 4:30AM, Mr. Carmack took a seat and went into the mix for 4 hours and played the perfect blend of soul, funk gritty bass, hip-hop and more. He not only unloaded an uncountable amount of unreleased originals and remixes from himself and friends, but then moved into mo-town hits, R&B classics and more for one of the most eclectic sets anyone in attendance had ever experienced.

There was a cast of other artists from the festival that were set to follow, but Mr. Carmack was nailing the vibe so perfectly that they allowed him to keep going.

Then, something magical happened toward the middle / end of Mr. Carmack's set. Newcomer hip-hop MC Honeycomb started beatboxing over the producer's funky beats. Having picked up on the vibes from the sidelines, the two were soon accompanied on stage by The Fungineer members Lafa Taylor, Kyrian Bobeerian and Honey LaRochelle, who delivered an unbelievable display of vocal talents alongside bass player Simply B (Brandon B Barker). It became a completely organic live band that even saw Carmack switch from Traktor to drum duties.

This unintentionally became one of the most outrageous and unexpected live musical experiences we've been apart of yet, and was further enhanced by a pristine sunrise that spread throughout the forest.

To be completely honest, we aren't sure if any other festival could house something so special and secretive compared to what the Thissongissick secret sets at Electric Forest became this year. We'd like to thank the Electric Forest team for the opportunity to craft these very special parties, and both Ryan Hug and Michael Silberman for their added assistantce. But most importantly, we'd love to thank those who attended these unforgetable performances with us so late in the evening. You best believe that 2016 will see another round of secret sets sponored by Thissongissick, so start planning your Electric Forest trip now! Enjoy
