Oregon’s own Emancipator never fails to impress us with his characteristically serene signature. With his classically trained background and a healthy 12 years honing his production style, he consistently stuns with dynamic releases combining glitchy, downtempo beats and velvet-smooth instrumentals such as violins, guitars and more. This style and a wide range of global influences came to life on Baralku, Emancipator’s most recent project that we had the pleasure of premiering the title track off of.
Today Emancipator follows up that album with a remix of Manic Focus’ dreamy “Stochastic Resonance” feat. Statik. Although he maintains that undeniably chill atmosphere Manic Focus created on the original, he takes things in a trippier, psychedelic-esque direction with other worldly chords, shuffling percussion and one of the best uses of scratching that we’ve heard in a while. It would be nearly impossible to describe each of the moving parts of this remix, from the alien breakdown mid-track to the subtle use of vocals, so it’s best you just take a listen down below to get the full effect. Enjoy!
