Hudson Mohawke has just come out of nowhere with a new collaboration featuring New York-based rapper Remy Banks. It’s been a while since we’ve heard music from the Scottish producer, but whether it’s hard-hitting trap or a wonky electronic banger, his signature sound is always obvious. Today, as part of the soundtrack for HBO comedy series Silicon Valley, comes Hudson Mohawke’s latest offering, “Passports”.
Starting off with a metallic melody, Remy Banks’ staggering verses quickly float in and sit perfectly on top of a booming bass and energetic drums. Some skittering hi-hats and pitched vocal chops intermittently add some well placed weirdness throughout the track. While Silicon Valley has previously featured music from DJ Shadow, Nas and Danny Brown, the full soundtrack is set to drop on June 23 via Mass Appeal records. Check out “Passports” feat. Remy Banks below and enjoy!
