JOYRYDE Releases Unique Bass House Track “NEW BREED” feat. Darnell Williams + Music Video

JOYRYDE has been steadily on the rise for over a year now, and rightfully so. The LA-based producer’s future house and trap-influenced signature sound is heavy and infectious, resulting in powerful tracks like “I WARE HOUSE,” “DAMN,” “Hot Drum” and many more.

JOYRYDE has truly cultivated a sound all his own, and he’s only continued to hone his craft with his most recent release, “NEW BREED” feat. Darnell Williams. The track was released this past Friday on OWSLA’s highly anticipated house compilation titled HOWSLA, and the title of the song is a perfect fit.

Although “NEW BREED” is as pulsing and high energy as all of JOYRYDE’s previous releases, the bass house track is a welcome departure from anything the producer has ever done before. A unique, high-pitched synth pattern accompanies a pounding bassline throughout the drop, giving way every once and a while for an additional well-placed synth. As for the vocals, Darnell Williams adds an unexpected spin to the track. His tone is deep and intimidating, giving the release a gritty, deviant feel that contrasts well with the sharp instrumental components.

JOYRYDE also dropped a music video for “NEW BREED” today that he wrote the story for, directed and edited all on his own. The video is also much different from JOYRYDE’s usual projects – it’s chock full of Satanic rituals, guns and intense getaways all shot in an ominous setting. The theatrical visual representation of “NEW BREED” gives the song a more holistic feel, and knowing how much of a role JOYRYDE played in its creation makes it all the more interesting.
