Watch Kendrick Lamar Make His Acting Debut In Starz’s “Power”

||

Hip-hop stars often carry a naturally high level of extroverted charm. This allure is not just great for their musical careers, but sometimes can land them an acting gig as well. There have been plenty of rappers over the years that have given acting a shot. Donald Glover, Method Man, A$AP Rocky, Ice Cube, and Andre 3000 all have major acting credits on their resumés in addition to rapping. The latest man to step forth into acting would be none other than one of our favorites: Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick officially made his acting debut on the Starz show Power last night, a show that stars 50 Cent as well. During the episode, Kendrick portrays an off-the-walls crackhead, Laces, who assists 50 Cent's character, Kanan, carry out a couple of hits by distracting the victims.

According to Courtney Foster, producer of Power, the friendship between 50 and Kendrick is what help secured the role. “He and Kendrick … were hanging out and Kendrick said, ‘I’d really like to be on the show,’ and you know it goes from there.”
