Louis Futon is a favorite of ours over at TSIS due to his impressive production abilities across many genres. Now he puts these skills on full display with his latest endeavor. While he was excited on tour, he decided to ask fans what tracks they’d like to hear him sample and after getting recommendations he went with the intro to Kendrick Lamar’s album track “PRIDE.”. Now we have Louis’ full remix and it’s sounding great.
He originally shared the song with a video showing how he sampled “PRIDE.”, grabbed another sample and made a full track around it, but after a huge reception from fans he decided to upload the full track to Soundcloud as a free download. The video showed the step-by-step process of grabbing the sample, finding another additional sample, put them together, add bass, drums, chords and additional instrumentation. It’s cool to see what went into creating this flip of Kendrick’s original and we’re excited to see what Louis decides to do for his next sample-based beat.
