Since he got his start back in 2010, Seven Lions has become a leading force within melodic dubstep. With releases that are both heavy-hitting and uplifting such as “Freesol” off his Where I Won’t Be Found EP, the powerhouse producer has become a TSIS favorite over the years.
This week Seven Lions announced the next leap forward in his career: his own record label, Ophelia. As a self-dubbed “home base” for his releases, this development will no doubt give the artist a place to release his unique style of music on his own terms. To celebrate Ophelia and kick things off strong, Seven Lions shared a new single today titled “Calling You Home” feat. Runn.
This cinematic release is a nostalgic return to the basics for Seven Lions, rewinding to songs of the producer’s past that enlist euphoric female vocalists blended with buoyant synth melodies and reverberating basslines. The gentle vocals draw you in from the first note, building into a drop brimming with heavenly synths and bass that hits hard over and over again. It’s the type of track that will make you want to laugh, cry and dance all at once, and it couldn’t be a better release to set the tone of Seven Lions’ new label on. Stream “Calling You Home” and check out the promo video for Ophelia below. Enjoy!
