Seven Lions, the master of melody-driven dubstep, has done the unexpected and released a rare 2-hour mix today as Episode 1 launching his new The Observatory mix series.
Seven Lions is currently a month into his cross-country Horizon Tour riding on the recent release of his EP Where I Won't Be Found and the latest Kill The Noize collaboration "Cold Hearted" as he once again continues his hot streak in 2017. The producer has used his rapidly expanding platform to push further into previously unexplored genres, mentioning The Observatory series is sonically different "this (series) allows me to highlight tracks I wouldn't normally play in my live sets, and explore different sides of my tastes and influences."
True to his word, the melodic dubstep DJ/Producer delivers a much more experimental performance. Seven Lions expertly takes listeners on a sonic journey across a range of genres from San Holo's "I Still See Your Face" to far reaches of Drum & Bass moments like Nu:Logic's "Driftwood". Seven Lions really leaves no wasted space on the 30-track mix, packing in music from an impressive list of producers including Lane 8, Above & Beyond, The M Machine, Madeon, Porter Robinson, and more. Seven Lions kicks off this new series exercising his musical creativity and gives a truly unguarded session below. Enjoy!
