Today we have the pleasure of introducing a talented new artist Teflon Sega, who has been making waves with his hybrid electronic R&B sound. For this premiere, he’s taken on Blink 182’s “Adam’s Song” for an impressive cover.
“I always liked the aesthetic of pop punk: Skateboarding, piercings, guitars. I wanted to pay my own sort of tribute but I thought to myself, if I'm going to do this, it's going to have to be a darker song. 'Adam's Song' addresses suicide...but instead of being defeated by the world, the character in the song deals with the feelings and finds hope. Dealing with demons and darker thoughts is why I make songs. It's my therapy. So recreating this song seemed like the right fit.” - Teflon Sega
Teflon Sega has some amazing original tracks under his belt that’s been earning him attention as he switches things up and delivers a cover of Blink 182’s classic track. Here he reimagines the original from the ground up, giving it an entirely new, moody instrumental utilizing a distorted flute, lush soundscapes and skittering percussion that sounds like an entirely new song. Teflon has an unique, airy voice that shines here as he delivers an incredible falsetto performance, doing the original justice. Keep an eye on Teflon Sega and enjoy!
